Would you suggest getting in Cleary or Pearce and holding off getting Smith for another week?

Depends on what Smith's BE is. For once it's relevant to consider that with him because it'll determine how likely he is to go up in price. I'd say if you have weak depth in the HLF's then strengthen that area first.
Presuming McInnes/Macca is your other HOK then you can probably survive another week without Cam.

I've reversed my trades and will be looking at cashing out Gurgess and bringing in CS9 for King.... not this round though, I'll wait for King to make a bit more coin so I have a some emergency cash for the finals

I was going to post this on Reddit seeing as most here would likely have done such research but oh well since I took the effort to write it, I might as well post it here too.

The handy guide to replacements for Shaun Johnson in NRL Fantasy

    Pearce
    Season Avg: 57.1
    Recent 3/5 game Avg: 55.7/56.4
    Run Home: Knights (H), Cowboys (H), Sea Eagles (A), Storm (A), Tigers (H), Sharks (A), Titans (H)

    Cleary
    Season Avg: 54.3
    Recent 3/5 game Avg: 78.3/70.2
    Run Home:  Titans (H), Bulldogs (H), Tigers (H), Cowboys (H), Raiders (A), Dragons (H), Sea Eagles (A)

    Cherry Evans
    Season Avg: 49
    Recent 3/5 game Avg: 67/56.8
    Run Home: Dragons (A), Storm (A), Roosters (H), Tigers (A), Bulldogs (A), Warriors (A), Panthers (H)

Some factors to take into consideration
    - How will Pearce be affected by the absence of Jake Friend?
    - How long can DCE’s ‘screw you QLD’ form continue?
    - Is there any conceivable reason Cleary isn't the best choice on paper?

    POD Options
    Hunt
    Season Avg: 48.5
    Recent 3/5 game Avg: 51.3/50.6
    Run Home: Bulldogs (H), Eels (A), Titans (A), Sharks (H), Dragons (H), Eels (H), Cowboys (A)

    Morgan
    Season Avg: 40.9
    Recent 3/5 game Avg: 55.7/51
    Run Home: Warriors (H), Roosters (A), Storm (H), Panthers (A), Sharks (H), Tigers (A), Broncos (H)

I feel like you could flip a coin with Cleary or DCE. I'm wary of Pearce without Friend and Gordon (ie the roosters struggling) though pearce seems to score well regardless?

I'm still considering something a little left field like Ben Hunt, though I was disappointed in the way he played against the Knights.

If Reynolds is gone I need two halves anyway (or a half an a WFB, moving munster up into halves)..

I added some POD options to consider in my HLF's post. If there's any other left of field options you think should be considered, I'll add them to the list

The "any conceivable reason Cleary isn't the best choice on paper" is why I've gone Pearce.

it will be interesting to see how many Cleary owners there are after trades this week

actually Pearce has higher trade in numbers on the 'top 10' lists at the moment. maybe everyone already had cleary Very Happy

Matterson looking like a great POD in the halves if he can snag that second row spot with Friend and Gordon out. SST getting a few injuries and surely Guerra should be on the outer since he's off to the Knights.

That's pretty much it. Cleary's average went from 45 to 50 on the back of one game and that will probably be enough to sway a majority to go with him.

Edit: that's interesting. I'm just going with my original plan and maybe other people are too.

I have both SJ and Reynolds, (as well as Merrin), with only 11k in the bank.
My other halves are CNK and Laybutt so I need to bring in 2 halves this week unless I run with an AE until I can cash out a centre.
Really keen on Pearce but that limits my 2nd option. Norman is one I was considering.
The other option would be Munster and DCE.
I don't have any DPP's elsewhere that I can use.
My other option would be to trade CNK to someone like Connor Watson if Reynolds was only going to be out for a week or 2.

Munster would be another option in the halves for those that don't already have him either there or at WFB.

Don't do anything and hope all your other players score well and don't get injured or dropped for the remainder of the year?
