Surgess's best asset was his byes, but Gallen plays the first 2 big byes himself, and without the distraction of origin, I think he can score consistently well all year.

Also, I just don't see the Tommy Turbo love. I get that he is a great player - but so was Brett Stewart in his prime and he never racked up fantasy points.
I guess its hard to assess the impact of the ankle injury on his performance so its hard to say how he'll go now if he is fully fit.

I can see the logic going Gallen over Surgess but you are assuming that Gallen won't get his customary re-origin injury.
T-Trbo & Stewart are totally different types of fantasy players. The reason Stewart was average was because he was solely a finisher & nothing else whereas T-Trbo can score his points through a variety of different ways. Even if Manly lose T-Trbo will still score well as he'll be the focal point of Manly's attack & highly involved.

Darius Boyd said at the season launch last night that Korbin Sims will start at prop in Round 1.

Should be soon. The Knights just tweeted that Luke Yates and Sam Stone will make their NRL debuts in round 1. Good cheapie options given the lack of stand out money makers

I think I've already exceeded my Knights player quota in my fantasy team. Any more and people will start to think I'm a Knights supporter

(if papalii doesn't get named Luke Yates will probably make it on my bench, I do rate him as a prop/lock, he's likely the one giving Barnett a break in the rotation)

    Pick two of
    JDB/Mannering/Gallen/Merrin/Burgess/Cartwright

    Pick between
    Peachey/TTurbo

JDB probably has the most upside out of those.

Surgess has excellent byes and Gallen has good ones.

Mannering/Merrin are solid enough but I think they can be brought into final 17 rather than starti with them. Maybe Mannering might make a little cash. Merrin is priced accurately I think.

Cartwright scored a little better in the halves than the forwards last year. i'm avoiding to start the year to see how he goes.

JDB is a solid pick and is a gun already but I don't see that much upside. Yes his end of year average was great and all but up until round 19 he averaged 64 minutes. After that he had several 80 minute games but that coincided with injuries to Frizell and Sims iirc, and they had players like Leilua coming off the bench. A lot of you are expecting either Vaughan and McInnes or both to play big minutes leaving less for everyone else also. Certainly if there are injuries JDB's the guy to play 80 when required but he already averaged 68.5 minutes and that may increase slightly but not much I reckon so is priced fairly accurately. Thoughts?

He's a beast and a year more experienced. He racked up some big scores in some 60 min games. Been a lock in my team since the get go

No doubt Gallen will get injured, however I dont think anybody should be making trades/plans on the assumption that somebody will get injured.

    If that makes sense?
