Someone earlier mentioned Matagi might be starting, so on that basis and the fact he is cheaper and with Sims now at the Donkeys I would vote Matagi.

Didn't Matagi start a bit for the Panthers last year without getting good scores? Think he's a bit of a Tagatese...he plays well and looks explosive but doesn't get consistent fantasy scores. That and the Eels having a shitload of props would put me off.

Your write up made me want to do one.

HOK: Aside from Seggy coming in I think this is the best HOK combination to start with as it doesnt compromise the rest of your team.

FRF: I am not sold on McGuire getting a bump in minutes or a bump in workrate like everyone believes he is going to. (Not that he isnt gun level.) I just dont think he makes it to that god like tier. Also not sold on the amount of minutes Wallace would get but I am leaning towards him.

2RF: What are peoples thoughts on Bolton? I mean are his minutes or workrate going to change all that much. Like Tamou is gone and Bolton may start but are his minutes changing all that much from last year? Like wont they just trickle down so he gets Tamou minutes and benchies get his. (Not sure how big the difference between his and Tamous minutes were.)

HLF: I am not big on investing much in the halfs to start the season. Particular Johnson who you could get at a cheaper rate elsewhere. Also Norman I am not sold on but everyone else is so he should be fine.

CTR: One thing you mentioned is SMat is having him in the CTRs in your review. Personally there is more value in the CTRs than the 2RF at this stage. I would start him at 2RF and move him to the CTRs if he is a keeper. Does Moga even get a run at the Broncos with how packed the pecking order is. He couldnt get a run in the Cowboys even after some injuries iirc.

WFB: No problems here a few doubts about Holmes but he should be decent. Especially with no Barba for half the season.

One thing I always look forward to are your brilliant team summaries. Good stuff mate.

You have to have Surgess mate. It'll be a big year from him. That team is very nice apart from no Surgess.

So it is looking like Slater is going to be good come round 1. He has been in full training and is being eased into contact training (He has started contact training) and looks set to return during the pre-season matches. As well as the fact that all pre-season Munster has been training in the halves.

Slater is too risky as he's injury prone imo. Mind you he burnt me last year so I'm a bit biased. I know his price is tempting but save yourself a headache.

If he makes it through the pre-season he will be an NPR WFB for mine. Just too much potential for cash.

Yeah I can see the attraction of doing that mate. Price at an average of 22 points so as you say a great potential for cash. Also if he gets injured it's an easy downgrade. The only thing to consider is if the extra cash you save by going with a bottom dollar npr could be used elsewhere.

Matagi is a spud. His first run of the game is up there with the best in the comp then he slowly falls to pieces up until 15 minutes on the field where he can no longer move sideways. Unless this has changed at his 3rd club I would avoid

Ultimate has treated us very well mate. Shanbon originally got us all into it back in 2014. Scoring/structure etc is completely customisable.

I was never interested in Drafts but joined with the FanHub issues back then to take mind off the Fantasy format. The banter in the Ultimate thread is a thing of beauty at times as well.

And the best thing, it is a non-flashy platform that just works. We've hardly had a glitch in 3 years.

Matt White was however given prop/centre DPP status in 2015 lol!

Laughing Thanks for pointing it out. (As you know I personally hate spelling players names incorrectly). I barely know who he is TBH, I just copied the spelling of his name from Honey Badger's team builder which says "Stimpson".

Hey mate, I've included you in the potential League 3 for Ultimate (If we can get another 6 players signed up). If we have anyone drop out from last years Leagues you will be the first to slot into their place. Click Me

With the Tigers probably having a hooker on the bench do we think ET will play more than his 2016 average of low 60ish minutes this year. If he gets 70ish he could be hitting the 50 point range. Is this why I see him in a few teams?

He played an ave of 69 min at the Tigers when playing lock. (does not include the 13 min he was concussed in)
