Foran ?? They've already paid him.

Everyone that was involved in the rumours have disappeared off the face of the earth this year. Parra supposedly paid him out for this year but it's not on the cap. I can see him having a quiet time on the sidelines taking his unofficial punishment.

Talk about Sironen, I reckon he will start the year all guns blazing before becoming his usual lazy self after having sucked in many a coach with his great start.

Or he actually puts in and reaches his potential like everyone else we let go.

You can't spell "Build on their potential at another club" without butthurt.

It all depends whether Marty Taupau plays edge second row or prop I guess, and that's even before working out whether Sironen is going to continue being shit. He will be fighting with Lane and Kennedy I guess for that right second rower spot (given that Lewis Brown is being shopped around), so could be a case of getting half a game each given Marty can play 80, likewise Trobjevic at lock. Hastings/Korisau will share time. So there is room for two props and 1 second rower.

Myles, Lussick, Fonua Blake, Lawrence/Perret will be the front row rotation if Taupau aint in it. I'm more interested in whether Lloyd Perrett can get a spot in the prop rotation at 143K. Not sure if I would want to risk going with one of the second rowers with Sironen $244K, Kennedy $207K or Lane $180K

I'd sort of been hoping Shaun Lane got the gig, but if Kennedy can get a starting spot, he's probably the best bet fantasy wise. Always had a great workrate when he got to start at Canberra.

Watching Sironen for the Tigers, I am distrustful of him, he has gone backwards the past 2 years. He has some talent though - maybe the change of clubs will give him a kick up the bum and he'll start performing.

Still on Siro, I noticed he is under priced getting a 6% discount for only playing 8 games and in 2 of those games he played 10 & 6 minutes, and only played 70 min or more on 4 occasions, could be a smokey for a few short weeks if no one else is available

BTW morning all - looks like today might see our page 51 party.

Last year we just managed to scrape in 50 threads, lets see if we can beat that this year

    HLF: Norman, Moses, Hodkinson, Hingano
2RF: Surgess, ET,  S Mat, KBrom, Stimpson, Elliot
    FRF: Gurgess, Prior, Hoare, Gray

Would love to get SJ in over Moses but would need to find ~100k

Was just going to say you have far too many midrangers in frf, 2rf and at half that will all require a trade at some stage.
Don't get the love for ET, nor SMat (won't be playing 80 with Buhrer and Barnett in the back row).
Moses and Hodkinson are very risky.
And then your front row is weak also. Prior will be good if Segy aint there, otherwise status quo I think.

Sironen is worse in fantasy terms than real life and that's saying something! Might reach the heights of a 40 before banging out consecutive 22s in 80 minute stints. Absolute horseshit

If Sironen gets the round 1 starting spot, he won't be a smokey, he'll be in a crapload of teams.

And if its not Sironen it will be Lane or Kennedy - and they'll be equally good fantasy options.

Sione Mata'utia will definitely play 80 mins on the edge. Either Barnett or Buhrer will play in the middle as lock & will get a rest. The middle forwards are rotated & the edge forwards play 80 mins.

I'll actually be quite happy for Siro if he kicks on at Manly. It clearly wasn't working for him at the Tigers so its not like we are going to miss out on

Likewise I feel no animosity towards Blake Austin for finding abetter opportunity elsewhere.

If/when Teddy goes to the Roosters as rumoured, that is when the butthurt will appear.

Was just looking at Sironens PPM from previous years and its atrocious. I've deleted them now but if I can recall I think it was only 0.37 (approx) in 2014, a little better in 2015, 0.4 something (although it was a low number) and 0.53 last year.

Too frustrating so a pass from me

Analysing teams at this point is not extremely useful. There is so much uncertainty over teams best 17s, that nobody really know who will actually provide good fantasy value

That being said - Uate might be OK as cash cow (questions marks over that too, he was definitely good in his prime but might be a bit past it), but you probably don't want him in your starting 17.
If you aren't comfortable starting Hoare I'd try and find a useful scorer in that spot

As you've said, Ballin is questionable, but none of the cheap hookers likely to play first grade look like outstanding buys at this point

I wouldn't be so confident, Brown still doesn't know what orifice he shits from. Sims might play lock, what about Jacob Saifiti, where does he fit? The Newcastle side named for round one will definitely be different to the side that takes the field for round 2, that much I am sure

In real life Kennedy is a much better pick than Sironen (even Lane is better) in terms of the work rate he brings to the pack. Sironen has only got as far as he has in the nrl due to his name. Sironen couldn't even establish himself in the poor Tigers pack (apologies to Tigers fans for denegrating the quality of your forwards)
Kennedy has been in my team since my first draft & imo he'll be a starting 80 min edge forward come round 1 for Manly.
