LORD of the BYES - Round 17 Results

Round 17 proved a great opportunity to make massive ranking gains, and no one did it better than Liverpool Bulldog - jumping a well deserved 4,372 spots and now well inside the top 10k.



Code Delta hangs on to a podium spot, but we have a new and familiar face at the top of the leaderboard.

Here's some bonus stuff for the bye-obsessed;

*This may or may not be helpful when planning for next year (as we really have no idea what the plans are for bye rounds aside there being atleast one team with a bye each week).


Here are some overall stats based on the round averages for players in this comp.
The average player score across all the entrants was 50.6 (4.5 points higher than R13).

This time 40/51 Lord of the Byes players managed to improve their rank - a great result.

This is a significant increase in numbers on last years competition.

I see TheWeapon has gone all in with a Tapine captain choice. Bold. It's tight up there... DarkKnight currently looking favourite.

That is a bold call - but no point finishing the comp with a "if only I had..."

Wow, TheWeapons down from first to thirteenth in the provisional results! Brutal contest.

Looks like DarkKnight is going to take it down, on the way to the far less important Overall medal. Pedigree,

Yeah wow. Some rough results this week..... Tapine wasn't a bad call, especially after I Pap's 55.... but I made a few poor choices that hurt me. I rolled the dice on Falls (he looked good on debut) but that cost be about 35 points or so.
I haven't seen the full ladder yet, but I dare say my 800 or so points wasn't enough. Happy to have retained my 'Master of the Byes' title, but it just goes to show that filling your squad for rd 13 and 17 doesn't necessarily mean it's the best way to score points from rd 13-18...

I love this comp.....and I'll be back again for more next year!

LORD of the BYES - Round 18  Results

Seven weeks ago we started the journey to see who amongst us is the greatest exponent of the bye period.

Rounds 13 and 17 we're all about getting good numbers of quality players, and then there's round 18 - a notoriously tricky round with unknown Origin fall-out and player restings.

We saw scores ranging from the 800's through to just North of 1050 - congratulations to all 15 teams that broke the 1k mark - a great round to do it!

Only one team from last weeks top 3 managed to retain a podium spot as the final places were confirmed:

A new king is confirmed - Congratulations DK - You are an outstanding fantasy player and now you are also the new undisputed "Lord of the Byes" - feel free to add this to your profile (if you wish)




The most players fielded across the 6 weeks was 99 by TheWeapon, with the least being 84 - that 15 player difference is like having an extra week added to your overall.

The highest player average was 54.2 by WolfKing who along with FaringdonSwirl and Bunter were the only players to back up last years top 10 with another top 10 this year.
Congratulations especially to WolfKing who despite 3 less players than DK, fell only 33 points shy of taking the crown.

It has been an incredible competition this year with just 74 points between 4th and 13th showing how tight the top really was - so thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make this the greatest Lord of the Byes comp yet.

LORD of the BYES - Final Rank Improver Results

It was a tough week but also a good chance to make some rank gains (or falls if you were unlucky) and no-one did it better than the Tigers forum legend; WT2K who topped the table.



It was close, but in the end there was no denying the rank improvement pedigree of the one and only...

Finally, the relative rank improvement table is again owned by the presiding Lord of the Byes - this year that is of course darkknight who overtook 98% of the teams that were in front of him when we kicked off.
Unsurprisingly Wolfking wasn't far behind - but everyone in this table should be proud of their efforts and the corresponding gains.
