Doing so really strengthens the rest of the pack, and there is always at least one golden cow each year. I am thinking Saifiti starting second row might be a solid smokey. These kids always go big on adrenaline on debut. A very risky move, but no worse than Taylor IMO.

    Thoughts?

Just rearranged my team to put Henry as NPR, Aubbo to Centre and Niko as 4th reserve.

That is tough mate. Maybe look at the fixtures in round 1 to make your choice. Maybe Fifita will struggle in the heat. Maybe Surgess will take a couple of games to get in sync. I think Merrin should see increased minutes at lock so go with him as 1 pick. I'd probably go Surgess as my 2nd.

Someone on Renegades saying Hurrell will join Titans in a month or so.

Apparently tweeted by Tony Adams of RLW.
Could be fake. Probably a much needed boost for the Titans if true

Cartwright/Merrin: Staying well away from the Panthers back row. Theres too much of an unknown there for me, especially with ET on the bench who is an 80 minute player himself. PEachey will come on, probably for Yeo, then ET will come on for either Merrin or Cartwright (80 min player also I think?) so somebody is going to be missing out. Unless ET is going to come on for Segeyaro, but that doesn't make any sense.

The fact it doesn't make any sense is exactly why Griffin will use Taylor as a back-up Hooker. I'm running with both of them, Merrin has a pretty good PPM rate and as long as he gets 50+ he'll go great. Cartwright well he just has the most upside of any mid-ranger in my opinion and it's worth taking a risk.

Merrin only needs 55 mins. If he gets 60-65 he should see a price rise.

Yeah I'm struggling to choose. Feel like Option1 is best but I'll be disappointed when Tedesco goes off!

I would go Fifita and S. Burgess personally. Fifita with a massive upside and S. Burgess based on potential and everyone owning him.

Anyone reckon J Graham will get increased minutes this year, with the reduction to interchanges?

Conundrum. I've got 250k leftover, and I'm really happy with my team. I'm only going for H2H this season so all my focus is picking guys who are undervalued + Cam Smith & Merrin.

Having that much cash leftover isn't an issue if you believe you have picked a team full of players who you think will generate you the cash you need to eventually build your 17-19 guns? That cash will come in handy for emergency upgrades over the first 3-5 weeks no?

    1 remaining question -

    Rochow or Whitehead? And why.

Sure having some cash gives you greater range when your are swapping your poorly performing players out for ones which look to be starting the season solid, but at the same time each dollar in your kitty is less spent on points. Even in head to head you have to worry about a first round matchup with somebody who has spent that 250k, which is some extra 25 points they have sunk into their team.

Edit: having cash is great, but that is a whole heap riding the pine

I went for this theory in H2H one year... it didn't work cos my weakened team due to underspending the cap by 300K didn't compete enough early on, I wasted trades just to catch up, missed the semi's making my theory of having guns for semi time redundant. Not to mention not every cow made money, some stayed static.
