With the game in the balance he was not given the ball once. Had 1 run out of dummy half but don't think a Titans player passed it to him in the last 20 minutes. Mostly he was standing out near the wing. Not sure if that was a deliberate plan to have him running at opposition wingers that they never executed, or if he was just hiding out there because he is soft.
Titans had no ball in the 2nd half. Every call went against them.
Sami went off, so likely played CTR at the end of the game.

They said Radley was grade 1 HIA, yet went on for another 10 minutes making tackles, etc. and then was pulled off. Surely the that has to be done sooner.

The Radley one seemed to be the Roosters trainer said no issue, hurt his neck. But then the bunker overruled after 5-10 mins. IMO with Radley even if it was neck not head there was enough impact there and he was visibly stunned after the contact to rule him out. I think the Roosters should’ve done it, and the bunker needs to act faster if they don’t

I didn’t see the 2nd half, so going off reports with BSmith.

The main thing with Ilias is that if you didn't have him, and wanted half cover (and were playing Schneider already), the only other option was Billy Walters, who most people assume will get dropped this week.

So it was either run short in the halves (maybe have someone like Mann,Burton,Hynes available via DPP shuffling), pick a guy with poor job security, or find money elsewhere to upgrade him.

Noone was expecting 50s from Ilias first up, but he was just the safest looking option at his position and price range.

Plus they got beat by the Broncos and was his second game... They should be up for the Storm game and with Latrell back maybe he'll have some more shape to play with (AJ isn't a notable ball playing fullback). As I said, money is forcing my hand to keep him, but can see some chance of upside about him.

I think it was a premeditated plan for him to move one out and try to get one on one with Blake. He definitely wasn't hiding out, I saw him with his hand in the air frustratingly crying for the ball a couple of times. Why the ball never got there seems to be the halves fault.
I'll accept this - let's call it Option 2 then.
Sexton needs to be coached on game management, especially in the final 20 mins when the games on the line.
Get your marque man involved. Kick to the corners. Harden up on D.

Imagine Cronk or Hughes driving this team around.  Beer

The ball would always die with Campbell as well. Is a greedy bugger.

There were a couple times I saw him hailing for the ball out wide on a 5th tackle play (4th) and then it would either get shifted to the left or Campbell would just run around like a headless chook. To be honest, that is terrible on the Titans behalf, Blake who isn't the greatest defender was shoved out on the wing, Brown was a make shift centre and Jakob Arthur is a young kid finding his straps and doesn't mind a missed tackle... Fifita should've had a field day out there.

Campbell was terrible. Terrible in goal line defence, but that was expected - he’s young, small and it takes time. His attack was awful too, just drifting left and running around in circles. At one point when he was doing this Brandy described him as a “genius”, maybe if he was playing tag in the playground but not for footy.

Sloan could also run around in circles evading defenders and be a genius but he generally makes a decision instead - pass long, short or inside, run at a gap or straighten up and take the tackle . Based on R1, I know which young FB I’d rather have in my team

Cowboys need to learn this too.

30 seconds to go, 4th tackle down by 2.
Have 2 forwards hit it up one out.

Multiple times they wasted 5th tackle options. If only they had a guy like Drinkwater in their squad who could provide a bit of creative spark.

Cowboys should use 800k to sign a half to manage their team

    Oh wait.

Maybe the Titans game plan relied on Brimson being the one to get the ball to Fifita and they couldn't adjust.

Hopefully things improve next week for the Fifita(c) brigade

Yeah I noted this. Great to see him get his hands on the ball and get involved, but the bloke often did more harm then good. Would dance around for a few slapsies, but he needs to be doing that, getting around a defender with his speed and then putting guys like Fifita, Marzhew, Tino one on one with a defender.

Also chose to put the C on Mahoney over Haas..... Great week 1 start.

Looking at Cheese to Tago and L.Thompson to Walters if he gets the starting gig, thoughts?

If Walters starts he'll be the number 1 trade in. I think most people would bet on Kelly getting the gig though.

Cheese to anyone looks like a must trade though, depending on what budget and positional needs allow

I think it was Joey Johns or Fatty who said this, but they reckon it's a hard spot for Kevvy because if he picks Billy it'll look like he is just picking him because he is his son, but whoever it was that said it, genuinely believes Billy won that spot.

Kelly was instrumental in that win but I think Kelly is just ARey and Billy really complimented that. I think Billy and Arey work better as a partner (non fantasy bias). Billy's attacking kicks (bar the one he booted dead), were pretty spot on.

They were both good. Maybe A Rey was throwing out diversions but it sounded like he wanted Kelly there in the interview after the last trial.

Personally, I think Kelly 6 and Walters 14 is the most logical. I like Walters as a utility, he is crafty out of DH. Hetho onto bench. Roberts and Kennedy out. Paix unlucky.

Not much point worrying about it until TLT

It was Fermor who suffered from Brimson not being there (he's left half) because Smith was even less likely to pass than Campbell.

(I have both Difita and Fermor. I hope Holbrook ripping up his "second rows are just for decoration" week one playbook.)

The ball just rarely went right. Herbert scored 4, Marzhew only scored 28 because he looks for work on early tackles.

When can we start tinkering? I'm thinking Hastings -> Starling and Amone -> Tago but not sure if it'll work out with price changes and only 5k in the bank

That sounds quite a bit short of being able to do those trades.
