NRL Team Lists and Late Mail 2022 Empty NRL Team Lists and Late Mail 2022

Post by Simon Templar Sun Mar 13, 2022 3:18 pm

I've created this 2022 thread in honour of Pacey.

Going by last season (and Round 1 this season), it looks like none of us can do the sterling job that Pacey used to do (even though some of us have tried, with varying levels of success).

What I try to do (when I can) is check the official NRL website for team-list news about 60 min before the kickoff of each game, i.e. the weeklyTeams List page (starts on TLT), and the Late Mail page (starts on Thursday, I think), although IMO the NRL website DOESN'T always do a good/prompt/accurate job of updating team-list news.

I'll try to post the links here each week (only need to post the links once each per week, as the NRL updates the pages throughout the round), so that the links are easy to find throughout the round.

    Round 1 Late Mail

Eels v Titans, Sunday 4.05pm at CommBank Stadium

    Eels:

No late changes for the Eels on game day.

Brad Arthur has named the same 17-man squad which was so impressive against premiers Penrith in the trials. Such is Parramatta's depth that quality first-graders Nathan Brown, Mitch Rein and Bryce Cartwright were listed among the reserves for the season opener.

    Cartwright is 18th man.

    Titans:

A late change for the Titans with AJ Brimson dropping out and his place at five-eighth taken by Will Smith. The new man on the bench is Tanah Boyd.

Former Rooster Isaac Liu brings 203 games of experience into the front row, where he will partner Moeaki Fotuaika. After starting every game last year in the front row Jarrod Wallace could not find a place in the 17.

    Esan Marsters is 18th man.

    Round 1 Late Mail

Cowboys v Bulldogs, Sunday 6.15pm (AEDT), 5.15pm (local time) at Queensland Country Bank Stadium

    Cowboys:

Tom Gilbert and Mitch Dunn have been promoted to the starting side an hour before kick-off with Coen Hess and Heilum Luki moving back to the bench.

Griffin Neame is the final player to drop out of the squad named on Tuesday, with Scott Drinkwater named the 18th man.

Ispirational skipper Jason Taumalolo is back on deck after missing the trials with a minor hamstring complaint. Along with promising back-rower Jeremiah Nanai, they are the two new faces into the side which took care of the Broncos in impressive fashion in the club's final trial.

Chad Townsend, Peta Hiku and Jamayne Taunoa-Brown are set to make their Cowboys debuts.

    Bulldogs:

Late changes an hour before kick-off with Tevita Pangai jnr dropping out of the side with an injury and Corey Waddell taking his place. Ava Seumanufagai comes into the starting side and Luke Thompson goes to the bench.

The dawn of a new era for the Bulldogs with Matt Dufty, Josh Addo-Carr, Brent Naden, Matt Burton, Paul Vaughan, Max King and Braidon Burns all making their club debuts.

I'm not planning on copying and pasting the late mail for each game in the future. I've just done it for the 2 games today so that people can see the quality of the info that NRL.com gives on their Late Mail page.

"Quality" stuff from NRL.com. Their official Late Mail DIDN'T mention that Taumalolo was playing prop (instead of lock). The work experience kid must have been looking after the Late Mail page today.

NRL.com has updated team lists and late mail for Dragons v Panthers.

    Round 2 Late Mail

Dragons v Panthers, Friday, 6:00pm, Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

    Dragons:

Tariq Sims will start at lock after playing NSW Cup last weekend. Aaron Woods (hamstring) is replaced at prop by Francis Molo, with George Burgess coming on to the bench. Jack deBelin drops back to the bench for Sims, with Gosiewski now the 18th man.

    Panthers:

The only late change to the Penrith line-up sees Spencer Leniu, who had originially been named in the startling line-up after Moses Leota's shoulder injury, move to the bench and Matt Eisenhuth now in the run-on side.

NRL.com has updated team lists and late mail for Titans v Warriors.

    Round 2 Late Mail

Titans v Warriors, Saturday, 3:00pm AEDT, Cbus Super Stadium

    Titans:

The Titans are 1-17 with no late changes. Tanah Boyd was the last man cut and Jarrod Wallace is 18th man.

AJ Brimson (groin) is good to go after missing the season opener, slotting in at five-eighth with Will Smith sliding to the bench.

    Warriors:

The Warriors are 1-17 with no late changes. Kodi Nikorima is 18th man and Edward Kosi was the last man cut an hour before kick-off.

Reece Walsh and Matt Lodge return from suspension, but a handful of injuries last week see plenty of changes to this week's team. Ash Taylor has been named to partner Chanel Harris-Tavita in the halves.

NRL.com has updated team lists and late mail for Knights v Wests Tigers

    Round 2 Late Mail

Knights v Wests Tigers, Sunday, 4:05pm, McDonald Jones Stadium

    Knights:

A blow for the Knights on Saturday with skipper Kalyn Ponga ruled out after failing to recover from a knee injury suffered in the opening round. Tex Hoy takes over at fullback.

Daniel Saifiti (leg) was named among the reserves on Tuesday but dropped out of the squad on Saturday. Fellow prop David Klemmer was ruled out on game day, with Mitch Barnett moving to prop and Mathew Croker joining the bench in the final 17.

    Wests Tigers:

A setback for the Tigers on Saturday with co-captain James Tamou ruled out Alex Twal moving in to the front row and Thomas Mikaele joining the bench.

Tamou had been due to return from suspension.

Luke Brooks and Ken Maumalo weren't at training on Tuesday but were cleared by coach Michael Maguire, along with hooker Jake Simpkin, who picked up a minor shoulder knock last week. All three were named in the final 17, which featured no further changes following Tamou's withdrawal.

    Round 3 Late Mail

Dragons v Sharks, Thursday 8.05pm, WIN Stadium

    Dragons:

    Sharks:

The visitors are 1-17. Matt Ikuvalu comes in on the wing for Ronaldo Mulitalo (head knock) and Siosifa Talakai will start in place of Teig Wilton (suspended). The new face on the bench is Braydon Trindall, who returns from a two-match ban.

Bumped for the two Round 3 games on Friday.

    Round 3 Late Mail

Wests Tigers v Warriors, Friday 6.00pm, Campbelltown Stadium

    Wests Tigers:

James Roberts (quad) is a late scratching with a short turnaround this week, replaced by Luke Garner in the centres. Alex Seyfarth comes into the team in the second row to fill Garner's spot.

Former Knight Starford To'a will play on the wing after Ken Maumalo withdrew on game day with an ankle niggle.

Jackson Hastings will not play after he was found guilty of a grade two dangerous throw at the judiciary on Tuesday night, opening the door for Jock Madden to partner Luke Brooks in the halves. James Tamou and Jacob Liddle return to the side this week with Kelma Tuilagi (head knock) out.

    Warriors:

The Warriors are 1-17 with no late changes. Ben Murdoch-Masila was the last man cut an hour before kick-off and Jack Murchie is 18th man.

More shuffling in the halves with Kodi Nikorima back into the side at halfback after being relegated to 18th man last week. Ash Taylor has a hip complaint which is only expected to sideline him for one week. Skipper Addin Fonua-Blake will play despite being inconvenienced by a hand injury against the Titans.

Any chance you (or another mod) could sticky this thread so that it doesn't have to be bumped through each round? (Then, also, the sticky could be removed from the 2021 thread.)
