DT reporting that afro has signed a 3 year deal with the Tigers commencing 2023
(hopefully he talks to Matto about agitating for that early release).

In other news; apparently DT don't employ editors or an editor-in-chief as demonstrated by allowing the headline:
Eels star Eels Isaiah Papali’i signs with Wests Tigers

With our luck he'll do an ACL Round 22 2022 or we'll make the same mistake we did with Blair and give him more responsibility than he can comprehend

Trent Barrett steals another Panther,  with Villiame Kikau signing on for 4 years ($3.2 mil) commencing 2023

Will the Bulldogs get themselves in cap trouble again?

Karl Lawton and Dylan Walker have extended at the Sea Eagles.

Eels apparently aren't going to make an offer to extend Ryan Matterson, despite losing edge stocks in Papali'i and Niukore

It’s kinda amazing how many people have signed onto the Dogs. You usually need to be a good team and/or have a proven coach to rebuild like this. Having cap space typically not enough.

I watched Paine with his fake crying with no tears this was obviously a ploy to garner affection...I usually hate grown men crying on tv when they stuff up but fake tears is worse.

The whole thing is very weird.

Wasn't really a fan of him as captain anyway, so, whatever

Yeah everything about it is weird

I don’t think Paine should make the team if he’s not captain. Not good enough IMO. one of the most overrated cricketers I’ve ever seen. Not even the best wicketkeeper-batsmen in his state. And it’s not even one of the big states!

I had been a fan of Paine's ability pre national captaincy (but obvs had a lot of injury problems that hampered his career) He took the job in a time of need, but after 12 months or so it was pretty clear he wasn't really up to it long term.

And yeah his "chat" is incredibly cringe

I remember when I first heard Paine speak the tone of his voice to me comes across as sounding arrogant like he knew it all...it reminded me of an arrogant policeman

I don’t really understand the whole dick pic thing. But then I never just dropped my pants and flashed the girls I wanted to fuck back in the day. And it’s kinda the same thing in my head. Actually, flashing seems less cowardly. Takes real conviction to escalate flirting to a view of ya knob by buying a grey trenchcoat and hiding in the bushes. Being a real pervert not some lazy millennial pervert.

I do feel a woman’s brother and husband sexting the same other women is a very Tasmanian story though.

neither. "sexting" in general tbh. don't really see the point. we either make the effort to meet up and and do the thing (or don't do the thing).. or.. just don't and move on.

Just some more signings updates from the last week:

Big Tino Fa’asuamaleaui extends with the Titans (4 years to 2026 - worth $3.3mil according to the CM) - after reportedly being chased by the Dolphins as a marquee signing.

Gutherson extended with the Eels (3 years to 2025 - worth $2.3mil according to the DT)

Twal extended with the Tigers (2 years to 2024)

Enari Tuala extended with the Knights (2 years to 2023)

Chris Smith and Christian Crichton both returning to the Panthers for 2022 (both were at the Bulldogs).

Joey Leilua finally found some interest and has signed for Featherstone Rovers

Today: Reuben Cotter extended with the Cowboys (3 years to 2025)

Weidler reported on the weekend that John Asiata is done at Bulldogs. Was waiting for anything on NRL.com on it, but nope (which shows the danger of in-house media as a primary source)

He's had his contract torn up as won't get the jab - apparently had relatives have adverse effects to vaccines and is spooked - and Bulldogs are taking a hard stance of no jab, no play. Same article reported Roosters had to be talked out a similar stance by the NRL. A few other clubs have 100% vaxxed anyway (I believe Dragons and Souths do, not sure of others) so it hasn't been  relevant discussion for them.

Same article also mentioned AFB as a it holdout, due to his daughter reacting badly to a vaccine as an infant, with Warriors pretty nervous about it

And breaking: Josh Alolai is the first NRL player with COVID... after catching it from Joey Leilua, who is technically no longer an NRL player (source: Fox Sports). Him getting KO'd by Gallen now off

No word on whether he is vaccinated or not.

Some players that are still not vaxxed, according to various reports are: Lolo, Big Papa, NAS, Koro, Brian Kelly, Tapine.

Mentioning this as it may limit their playing availability and fantasy relevance. The list has gone down from 25 holdouts to about 12-15.

Dylan Walker had his first jab when he re-signed with the Sea Eagles last week (which suggests they wouldn't sign him until he did - I'm imagining him getting it injected in one arm while signing with the other lol). Luke Thompson has also got his first jab - which is I guess why he is still at the Bulldogs and Asiata is not.
