Yeah I was out of the loop over the weekend but when I saw he was out I just assumed it had to be injury related. If he was dropped you'd think it'd be done on TLT, especially with Sironen shifting in there. Weird there hasn't been any word on it one way or the other though

Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler has declared ‘heaps’ of Penrith Panthers players will likely be included in his Origin squad when it gets announced next month, including potential bolter Matt Burton.

Looking at the other trade options people are considering this week I see how much of a dumpster fire my outside backs are.

I know he's a good player, but 100% someone who looks much better because of a system that will no longer exist when playing for NSW. I mean is he even in the Panthers best 17?

It's weird not to hear any injury news, but I agree it seems more likely a niggle than being dropped. It makes no sense to wait 1 hr before kickoff to drop SOS for Bayley Sironen.

Then again the Dragons did a late switch of Bird starting HB over Clune, which is kinda the same thing as Biro over SOS...

Yeah agreed. Burton is a great player in an amazing team. But to throw him into origin seems really dumb, he probs wont play a game for NSW though, will probs just be getting him experience.

If I didn't own him I'd be all over him next week. We have years of evidence with Teddy playing in both good and bad teams that he is a top tier keeper

Has he signed with Bulldogs next season? Probably a good chance (say 30%) he looks like a fairly standard first grader in that setup

Another thing with Freddy... can someone in QLD tell me, does anyone in the QLD coaching/management setup feed the media team notes like NSW does every year? I feel like there is zero benefit to it. Id say it’s only happening because of his massive conflict between his day job as ch 9 commentator and side hustle as state coach, but it’s always happened. It’s an annual tradition for the Daily Tele to announce the team a couple of days ahead
