    I think a lot of us have more Eels/Raiders/Titans in our squad than we might have expected so will be pretty well set for Rnd 12....

    The list of second bye, non-origin keepers is pretty short though - Smith, McInnis, Farah, Fifita, SJ, Nikora, RTS. Might be a couple of others but not many.

    R12 is just as bad as well though. The more I look at it the less enthused I get:

    No Origin Keeper: Taupau, Bateman, Taumalolo (if fit by then), Reynolds??, Surgess??
    Keeper but Likely Origin: Arrow, Cleary, DCE, JTurbo, Cook, TTurbo (injured)
    Mid Rangers/Sub-Par Keepers worth keeping until around R12: Murray (probably origin), CNK, Rein, Mahoney??, Lewis, Tolman??, Morgan (origin), Moses, Gutherson, JFH, Kikau, James, Burns??, Niukore
    Cash Cows: Sutton, Ogden, Okunbur, Garrick, Sivo, Carty,

    I suppose the difference is it's fine to carry a Rein/Mahoney/CNK into the first bye knowing you'll flip them soon, but you want your final 17 closer to being sorted by the second, so it's keepers only.

    I’m taking the “fuck the byes, I’ll worry about them later” approach this year. I planned like a demon last year, ended up with something like 14 starters in R12. Only made up a couple of hundred points as most were shit mid Rangers and it was a virtual waste of time. The best teams already had a huge lead by bringing in keepers and SOO reps early, so that’s me this year. Build the team fast. Fuck the byes and hang on Laughing

    I'm pretty much the same, although I've never done too much bye planning.

    CNK to RTS, Mahoney to Smith and Carty to literally anyone who plays round 16 are a couple of my post round 12 planned trades. I'm not breaking my back to get numbers in bye rounds this year, but I am targeting the likes of Taupau who I think will be necessary for a decent score.

    Pretty well have my backline sorted now barring injuries, now to get some keeper forwards - Farah, JFH and Jake Turbo on the short list although I have no idea how I can afford them Shocked

    Cause I'm doing so shit, I've been thinking about this aswell. I can't even really recall if bye planning helped me in my overall climb because I was more worried about winning my work league. I also can't see that many points can be made up in a couple of bye rounds. People at the top have their teams set as you say and then you fill your team with midrange players and then all the rep players come back and you're left with a shit team to sort for the rest of the year.

    Anyone have any thoughts on what I should do this week please guys. I'm doing pretty shit so not sure it matters;

    Rein
    Fifita Taupau
    Murray Arrow Bateman
    Morgan Carty
    Nikora Capewell
    Sivo CNK Ponga

    Macca Lawrie Garner CHT

    Bird Rava Burns Keighan

    1K in the bank! Do I;

    *Double cow to get Cook next week for Macca through Keighan and Bird/Burns?
    *Get Haas and settle for a cheaper back eg Hughes/Walker through Burns
    *Get Haas and also just swap Macca to Twal and run with 1 hooker?
    *Get Haas and trade Macca to anyone 865K or under eg. McInnes/Smith/JTurbo/Reynolds/Klem/Teddy?

    Not sure which way I need to go. Cheers!

    THere's not many guns I can get this week unless I trade Macc

    Keighran > Haas this week and bank 1 trade? Otherwise I'd be looking to trade Bird before Burns for the other trade.

    Thanks mate. Thinking I'd need to do the second trade to get the Cook funds for next week if I go that way. Could do 2 next week though I suppose.

    Bird/Burns ---> Haas
    I like the Twal upgrade option too but not sure its 100% necessary.

    I would go double cow, trade out burns and keighran. They both wont see the paddock any time soon. Get some cashies on the go and I would consider going Macca - CS9 next week. Cam smith at 800k is solid value imo

    Thanks mate. Was thinking Bird to Haas as 1 trade. Yeah, the Twal one seems a bit sideways and a bit of a luxury trade. Although Macca is really pissing me off. Might be better to double cow and aim for Cook next week.

    Thanks dude.  I did want to keep Burns but if he's at least another month away, then that's a problem.  Although if I kept him, he should allow me to loop Sivo and Rava this week.  Bird though wouldn't mind seeing how he goes if the Broncs bounce back but BE of 40, don't want him to start leaking cash.

    CS9 is interesting. If he cracks 60K he could be a good alternate option to Cook/Farah.

    Would trading Sirro to Twal be worth the 200 grand in my bank?
