When I saw the replay of the Mitchell incident first contact was his shoulder but he is raising his arm to attempt a tackle. Usually they charge when the arms are straight down.

Had always liked Meninga but his comments defending giving Slater the Wally Lewis medal seem a bit conceited:
"I know Tom Trbojevic was great but with due respect what we see in the game is a little different to what other people see."
Maybe I have misconstrued his meaning, but I interpret that as
"Fuck you all, I am Rugby League bourgeoisie, and your proletariat opinions don't count for shit... (with all due respect)"

Series loss played 2/3 games defending the indefensible. This was a goodbye gift pure and simple and makes a mockery of what the awards supposed to be for

Yeah it was all about blowing smoke up his ass as much as they could. Even I didn't think they could be that blatant but NRL never ceases to amaze me.
