    Fainu:

Thumbs up - still trading him in despite the issues.
Thumbs down - too much of an unknown, not trading him in anymore.

Bennett has used those guys when he had a hooker available so it would still be fairer than the Manly situation.

I remember Rapana owners complaining that they never went right which you might expect to continue given there's no Rapana there which is good for Tapine (he's left correct?). Could be due for a few meaties.

The Raiders have a tough draw coming up though. Only four home games in the remaining 11 games and the away games are Campletown, Suncorp, Belmore, Shark park, AAMI stadium, Panthers stadium and Mt Smart. Bloody hell!

Anybody else keen on Smith as captain this week, despite a fresh Cook coming back against the Eels?
50 tackles and 250 kick metres last week, seems like he is really rolling up his sleeves lately; 3 game average of 75. I cannot resist this retro-captain choice, let's part like it's Fantasy 2017!

Todd Murphy would be next cab off the rank and trained at 9 during pre season for this scenario.

Edit: Meanwhile Bulldogs have 7 home games. They only play top eight teams five times and four of those are at home. I can hear Milchcow already: Does the perceived toughness of the draw even matter?

Edit2: I meant to edit myself, not quote myself!

If you quoted yourself instead of editing yourself than there is only one edit not two. Best edit that out.

Although I guess the other option is McInnes and he will be in the same place haha

At least it gives you good cover if a starting half is injured for a couple of weeks, especially if you're low on trades

If no news and he doesn't play, you see it as too much of a risk to bring him in anyway? Koro will still be out another 7-9 weeks.

Is he in the top 30 squad? The Broncos page lists 34 players in their first grade squad.

I still think its ridiculous that the NRL can dictate team selections to a first grade coach. One of the few times I agree with Phil Gould.

If they genuinely think Manly are doing salary cap dodginess with Fainu - why are they allowed to keep him on their books at all?

Instead they are just giving a leg-up to the teams that play Manly in the next few rounds, as Manly will be forced to either play a part time hooker, or someone who the other players allegedly don't like.

Think I'm just doing the one trade of Murray to Harris. Will hopefully find a cashout for Soro soon enough, could go with Mann this week but not sure.

It gives you a back up half, another round 17 players, and one of the top fantasy scorers this year. What makes you concerned it wouldn't be worth it?

If its a positional thing its no different from grabbing McInnes/Smith when you already have Cook.

You could hold off and hope Fainu gets cleared however if you wait too long on Mann he could lose a decent amount of his cachet appeal.

    Bit of a risk IMO.

So in other words, Manly are disadvantaged for horribly mismanaging their top 30 playing squad? i don't see the issue

    Yeah, he is top 30

This is the whole point of a salary cap - the line has to be drawn somewhere. unforutnately in manlys case they aren't doing anything dodgy, but if they can't fit a suitable backup hooker in their top 30, that's their cap mismanagement, not really the NRL's fault.
