My question made it onto LS's Q&A
What is AJ Brimson's job security? He is been killing in QCup but word is so is Elgey. Other options are Campbell Graham or Mahe Fonua? Thoughts?
    From Matthew Julien

Yeah, the risk for Brimson is the presence of Kane Elgey in the Titans squad, plus the fact Brimson hasn't played a game in the NRL yet. There's no real way of knowing how he'll go until he's in action, and he's got a tough game first up against the reigning premiers in front of a big crowd in the first of a double-header at Suncorp Stadium. I'd take a look at how he performs this week and weigh up whether to trade him in next week.

Graham and Fonua both have the risk factors of being wingers – they've both scored well so far but there's always the risk of a single-digit score – so Rhyse Martin is a better cash cow option now if you haven't got him already. Brock Lamb's another one to keep an eye on assuming he'll take on the bulk of the kick metres at Newcastle and he's got $250,000 to make back if he can match last year's scores.

He could even be a late switch to start this week. Its a shame that Souths are on Sunday this week.

    Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:I have 21 trades and am thinking of Thompson/Maloney > Brimson/Taumalolo, so 19 after that.

From my count Ill have 11 keepers (including Arrow) and 4 borderline keepers, Hiku will probably stay around as CTR/WFB cover in EME so that makes 5 borderliners in essence.

So that leaves me 5 cashies. Havili, JMK, Martin, Sorenson, Brimson. (Unsure when Martin, Brimson, Sorenson will become useful)

Havili (600k) and JMK (450k) are earmarked for a 2RF/HLF (850k) keeper next week.

So my team next week with 17 trades remaining will look like:

    Cook
    Fifita, Arrow*
    Taumalolo, Taupau, RFM
    DCE, Matterson
    Aitken, Hiku
    Ponga, Teddy, Walker

    Smith, Kikau, Murray, JFH
    Sorenson, Martin, Brimson, Cow

Taupau could become Cleary instead and I'll move Matterson up to 2RF

Planning is good for the soul.

Can't argue with those trades Bulldog
The way your team is, most would dream to have a team that looks like this and with your trades left you are miles ahead of most.
I can only really add to this by saying the sooner you build your final 17 the better, and you probably don't need to take too many risks, is the rest of us that have to haha

My gut feel is that Arrow misses a few more games from here. I really dont want to trade him out but bringing in LOLO is sooooo appealing. I'll be flip flopping all day I think!

Fonua has been training in the centers this week, MWZ on the wing.

IM thoroughly enjoying the fact that the discussion is branching out a bit more to include some PODS. Groups of people with opposing views on who to bring in. Will really shake up the ladder I think, cant really on everyone having basically the same team with a cheeky one or two pods.

Hoping we hear more on Peats and Rein today.

Are people that don't trade Rein just going to cross their fingers and hope Peats gets delayed a week?

I'm trading Rein to Taumalolo or Aitken. If I go Lolo I'll have no news re Rein/Peats but if I go Aitken I'll know for sure.

Surgess or Fifita? How much will fifita be affected by Gallen. Do their return justify picking up Surgess instead?

I'm keeping Rein one more week at least. If Peats plays then I'll trade Rein next week (likely to Lamb). Break even is low enough to take a bench score

He fits the profile of the kinds of PODs I need to be getting into to catch up ground on the leaders. Last week when highly owned players were crashing and burning my PODs like Capewell, Taupau, Hess, RTS were doing well, so made up a lot of ground with a decent score finally. I now have 9 players with an average of 2% ownership between them, all value buys. Just waiting for a number of them to fire in the same week again.

    Hey mate,

While I don't approach the game you do, many of your trade and strategy options have been pretty unique. So, Im intrigued, how are you travelling now?

If I recall correctly, you were comfortably inside the top 100 before you started pulling out some pretty bold calls. Is the 128 ranking still current?

At this stage I am doing 2 pretty unexciting trades , Gossie to Martin and Cogger to Brimson. Gives me 300 grand ITB for the upcoming upgrades I need to make but I am thinking about holding off on Brimson for a week, I am down to 18 and don't want to trade in another failed cow but the extra cash it gives me is very tempting.

I really want to bring in Tolo this week because I feel he will just keep going up now. I have been talked out of RFM > Tolo but how does JFH > Tolo sound?
I know JFH has a BE of 38 and is a borderline keeper but he has only really been hitting around 48-50 bar one 59 performance when he made 50 tackles in RD 4. If he sticks around 45-50 he is set to only make another 45-72K (655K-682K) plus he is RD 17 player so misses RD 13. Tolo is going to keep making money and he plays RD 13 plus is a GUN. Thoughts?
