Just on the importance of minutes played from last thread. Topic started with the comment that Alvaro's scores were not that tempting because he wasn't getting good minutes.

Who would you prefer to have in your team, a guy who scores 50 points in 40 minutes, or a guy who scores 45 points in 80 minutes (assuming same price)
The way some people obsess over minutes here I think some people would rather have the 80 minute guy
You want more points obviously! The point is a player is far more likely to consistently score more points in more minutes!

Can RFM score 40 points in 60 minutes? Yes he can! Is he more likely to score those 40 points in 80 minutes. Yes

    These trades too drastic?

Merrin > Matterson (moving to the halves with Walker)
    Nicholls > Isaako

Keeping SST (BE 40) and Carty (BE 15) for this week.

    SST > DCE
    Smith > Ferguson

    Intrested in

C.Walker (getting alot of rabbits though..) 154pts over 3 games avg 50pts a game. wheres everyone getting minutes played stats, i'd be interested in walkers 3 game mins/stats.
RFM - replacement for SST on my team end of year, most likely.
whitehead - keeps popping up there too..
Matterson - another option for my halves
Murray - Wait for him a little longer

I'm just not sure if I want to go someone in the 5-600k mark instead of DCE though... he just toughens up my halves but walker could do just that with the 200k for me to have in my bank

Is there a reason people are wanting to trade out final 17 keepers to trade in players that have scored tries or had huge attacking plays? If I had the likes of Rapana and Tedesco they wouldn't be going anywhere. Both are going to average 50+ in a difficult position and both were likely to have low scores at some point in the season

I hope people trade out Teddy. The more people trade him out the more likely he is to score 100. (I know this isn't literally true)

Although in the battle between more attacking points playing for a good team, vs doesn't need to do everything playing for a good team, it looks like the latter is winning

He has been 2-3 steps off line breaks and tries multiple times so far this year. Once the combinations start clicking I don't doubt he will put up some big scores. I don't think he will beat last years average like most expected but he should match it

People bringing in Matterson. Are you not concerned that he got 58 minutes in the first game, played 80 in second game but Tupou and Maubs were injured so can't gauge anything there, and last week 80 again but Maubs recovering from a nasty head gash and wasn't needed as they were smashing the Knights, he would normally get more than 14 minutes you would think. I'm considering him but his minutes are far from settled I would think. But if he keeps getting the 80 is good value dpp round 13 player.

Im not convinced about him in the NRLF format. Im all over him in VSDT though where he has DPP C/2RF and before his price rose.

It just seems like in this format its a lot of money to be paying for a guy with questionable job security/minutes given that there is unlikely to be much value in him right now, even as an 80 minute player.

That being said, the fact that Aubs is there, on the one hand seems to protect Matterson from getting switched to C, and therefore to some extent gives him a nice floor, but on the other, as you say, its not clear how Aubs will be used yet, even if Matterson continues to get the start, which it looks like he has nailed down, is Aubs gonna continue to be there to just spell Cordiner? That's unlikely surely....

I guess looking at the bench, if Radley is there to spell Friend and cover halves/hooker and Tetevano and JWH to spell SST and Napa that leaves Maubs to spell Liu via Matterson to the middle probably. Therefore depending on requirements Maubs can spell Cordner, Matterson or Liu. Unless when Radley comes on Friend goes to lock which I think happended last week. Hmmm.

I guess further to this, with injuries and HIA's it seems apparent that in that event Matterson is the beneficiary with Maubs still the one to be shifted around.

Hey guys, apologies for asking a question which no doubt has been answered before, but if you have a team with Cook, Griffin, and Havili as your eligible hookers, but you place Griffin into a starting 2RF spot and Havili as an EMG (and you have someone like Rochow (a 2RF) on your interchange). What would happen if Cook goes down injured and you haven't changed your team?

    1) would Havili slot into Hooker? and the rest remain unchanged?

    or

    2) would Griffin go to starting hooker, Rochow to Griffins starting 2RF spot, and your first ranked EMG shift up into your scoring 17 on the interchange?

    Cheers

I asked in the last thread but what is the consensus with Rochow's job security? And what do people see him averaging from here on in?

Yup I think everything you say makes sense, so the end result is there is still uncertainty around Mattersons role, even if he keeps that starting spot. But it does seem he would have either:

    1) an 80 min edge role (like last week)
    or
    2) maybe a ~60 min role which combines time on the edge and time in the middle.

Perhaps both end up producing similar scores, but depending on what the split would be in option 2, you'd think on average option 1 would be preferred by fantasy owners.

Yep, you want to use your DPP players in your 14-17 where you can.
