I am a little critical of people who stack their bench with $228k players and hope, but here is my way of fitting as many guns as possible into my team.

    Smith
    Fifita Lodge
    Murray RFM McQueen
    Thurston Croft
    Milne Takarangi
    Tedesco Ponga Hiku

    McGuire
    Cook
    Cartwright
    Garvey

    4 * $228k

I am a fan of Croft and think he'll go well Fantasy-wise. But if you don't want him you can play Cartwright, and swap Croft to Taukeiaho/RCG/JBrom

I know these questions are difficult to answer, but looking for someone to confirm my thoughts on something.

Currrntly tossing up between these two combos of three.

    Smith, jwh, tapine

Friend, jbrom, Cwalker (or any player over 627k with dpp for coverage)

My tactic for the year is to reduce early risk and avoid being forced into early trades.

Darcy Lussick is a bit like Kane Evans for me - potential to make some cash, but a lot of history of disappointment.

I'm confident there will be a few $228k outside backs come round 1, getting a start through either trial form or injuries. Just have to hope that they can average at least 25 points (which is no guarantee for some wingers)

    Thanks Milchcow,

I just looked at Darcy Lussick's stats. He is dead to my team now.

Kane Evans is an entirely different story.

Last year he averaged just over 25 minutes per game for just over 22 points. By all reports, he is widely expected to start at the Eels to introduce some size to the starting pack. Even in a worst case scenario of getting 35 to 40 minutes per game, I am expecting at least an 8 to 10 point price rise per game, potentially more. It seems a no-brainer to have him in the team at the price. Whet were you expecting for a 25 minute forward of the bench last year??

Some others that are in that category at the moment are Isaac Liu and Raymond Faitala-Mariner. The way the rules have been set up this year, you absolutely need people who are going to almost certainly rise in price.

Kane Evans only sustained run of decent scoring came at the start of 2016 when the Roosters were without Boyd Cordner and JWH. Other than that he has produced 4 years of fantasy mediocrity.

Moving to Parra might kick start his career, but there is no guarantee he starts over Alvaro, nor that he gets amazing minutes. And even if he gets good minutes, there is no guarantee he will do much with them.

He's priced low enough that there is some value there, but I am not convinced there is enough to make him a requirement for my team

Does any one have any stats for 2016/2017 for James Fisher Harris wondering if its worth taking a punt on him? Averaged 20.2 last season but from memory had a pretty injury affected campaign in 2017 could be worth around 30 if he gets a starting spot and some minutes. Thoughts?

Just a few pieces of news I picked up today via sc addicts:
Coote hammy out for a couple of weeks & apparently Morgan will fill in at f/b in the trials. Of course this started everyone off speculating if they would move Morgan to f/b to accomodate TMM in the halves as a permanent move for the season.
    C. Walker injured his shoulder & should be out for a couple of weeks.

Also Siebold has come out & said Cook & Farah will compete for the hooking role. Apparently Farah is determined to fight all the way.

That's what I'm doing because points are the priority to get off to a good start so I'm placing more emphasis on points over value. The good cash cows are always backs so my positions 18-21 will be Garvey/Havili, Croker & 2 ctr's/wfbs's.

Sydney FC doing crazy shit in the W-League.
2-1 up against 10 players, in the dying minutes they spurn a 2 on 1 then a keeper howler allows Newcastle to equalise in injury time.

Anyone else thinking Mannering as a (C) alternative to some of the other options.

Workhorse! Consistently high scorer! No origin! Loss of Bhompson!

    What is not to like?

Great POD over Nrown, who just does not get those slightly bigger scores and may not play as many 80 minute games next year.

Even with him, I can make myself a POD DPP bench of

    14. Griffin
    15. Dugan
    16. Liu
    17. B. Cartwright

    18. Havili
    19. Butcher
    20. Leilua
    21. Katoa

I'm worried that they move the keptin to the back row instead of lock along with Harris. It will greatly affect his scores if they do move him

Ah actually is even worse than that. My emergencies will be 228k x 3 and 212k unless i male changes.

not really a fantasy relevant trial but the broncos/Capras game is going and has a livestream that isn't too hard to find, not saying anything that hasn't already been said, but Payne Haas is going to be special once he gets his shot.

Wonder if Su'a will get a run with the broncos. The fact he isn't playing in the trial game tonight makes me think he'll be getting a trial game with the main squad

Serious question. After 4 rounds would you rather
    A) be leading the comp, having increased team value by $200k
    B) be 200 points behind the leader but have increased team value by $800k
