For a mostly untested kid at the top level who has had trouble returning from an ankle injury, has been lazy at re-hab and is 20Kg over weight, he's manager has pulled off a major coup. It's not that much less than what the Tigers signed him on.

Nah, not been a fan and you'll get what you pay for.

What about cotric? Started off a bit slow but was gunning it at the end, might be a mansour type player.

Isn't the nu brown signing a threat to 80min lichaa?

I kind of like mbye as the full back, goal kicking full back that can ball play.

Are Watson and Croft must haves or is it better to go with one gun and young Croker??

Definitely not must haves. Watson is undervalued but a midranger and will need trading out. And there's the question mark about Croft's job security with Bellamy saying the halves might be rotated.

Nu Brown played as a bench utility 0 times in 2017. And just twice in 2016.

New team, new coach, so things could change.
Lichaa is undervalued due to a bunch of single digit scores last year when he played off the bench and/or got injured. He'll be undervalued even if he only gets 60 minutes a week (although perhapsnot enough to put him in your team)

You don't want to be forced to trade to field a 17 if one of your props are injured for a week. Don' think you even want someone like Evans in your scoring 17 anyway.

What's the ideal bench setup? Just make sure you have plenty of DPP?

Pretty sure he had back issues as well before signing with us? Deadset, I reckon we dodged a bullet. Loves dropping the ball as well. Although if he is that fat now he might have better control so the fat cunt doesn't have to bend over to pick it up again.

Croker (assuming he starts) is a must have for your 21. Whether or not he makes your 17 is another question.

Croft has a BE of 38. In 5 NRL games he has never scored lower than 41. Maybe not a must have, but his price in only going to go up. I guess the concern would be around comments Bellamy made about rotation. Personally I think its crap and Croft will play every week if fit.

As a starting 5/8th, Watson averages 36. From 10 games he has only twice scored under his BE of 27. Little bit riskier than Croft IMO. Brock Lamb may pose a danger to his spot, although Watson has allegedly been promised a decent crack at the number 6.

If you want a gun half, I like JT or DCE, but I don't think there are any established halves who are significantly underpriced.

All halves are undervalued to some degree due to the addition of forced drop out points.

8 bench slots (4 scoring, 4 non scoring)

Need to cover all 6 on field positions with players who can give you a reasonable score (4-6 slots taken)
Fill the rest with cheap (ideally min price) players who will make you some cash.

Hooker seems to be the value position this year, so I think a lot of teams will have 2 or more hookers on their bench.

I think 8 spots might break down something like
14-17. HOK, HOK, 2RF, HLF (ideally one or more of these guys with a second position)
18-19 best scoring players you can afford (any position)
    20-21 CTR/WFB, FRF,

One of those free spots may have to be another CTR/WFB. Running with just a single CTR.WFB DPP on your bench might leave you exposed if injury strikes and/or one of your starters turns out to be a dud.

Yeah when he was signed for so much without ever even playing a game he was coming off a season where he played like 2 whole games because of injury. Getting out of that contract was big for the Tigers.

I am seeing Thurston in a lot of teams. Is nobody else worried about him even holding value at his low(ish) price? I don't have faith he can pull off the 50's he needs, save for a huge cowboys win with plenty of goal kicking for him. Morgan went from making 20-30 touches a game to 60-70 when he took over the running of the team. Obviously Thurston will still be the dominant half, but I just can't see Morgan slipping back to "25 touches and 50 kick metres" caliber in order for Thurston to get back to the numbers he was producing pre-injury. I expect Morgan to find some middle ground between his 2016 and 2017 stats, but even that should still take away from JT significantly enough.

In 7 games with JT kast year, Morgan scored over 31 just once

In 20 games without him (including finals), he scored under 40 just 4 times.

Its a big difference in his scoring.

JT is priced at just 44. I am confident he will average more than that. And he is priced much more affordably than other gun halves

If for instance you only had one playing CTR in your whole 21, do you get the score of the 5th reserve? Or do you cop a zero for that spot
