So matterson wants out apparently. Surprising that there are reports he is only on 350 - the guy was an absolute steal from the roosters and you would think that he would be looking at offers anywhere up to 700k. Hes a gun.

When he left the roosters there were reports that he had a big head and was a bit of a goose, sounds like its rearing its head again at the tigers. Dogs, Knights and eels apparently looking interested.

WT have now lodged paperwork with the NRL to have Ben Matulino medically retired after he suffered a severe knee injury in Round 13 vs NQ. If successful, WT would clear significant cap space to the tune of $800k/year

Which is then gonna have to be spent on Matterson or a replacement. Why can't we have nice things?

If Matterson walks and we get the Matulino relief that's $1.1m to keep Benji and still have enough to go after a top end forward.

We've got a top end forward now who's only on 350k if we keep him.

Guaranteed we won't get the dispensation for Matulino either, whenever the NRL is involved we get shat on.

Arrow/Matterson swap is the mail.

GC paying the difference for Arrow + upgrading Matterson ? The Clydesdales having a boys weekend on the Goldie ?

geez that would be a good get if you swap him with arrow. I mean, you still dont have any great edge back rowers (Chee Kam came along in leaps and bounds towards the back end of the year) but Arrow is quality.

Arrow to the Tigers would make complete sense with our inept management. We swap Matterson for Arrow. Arrow is off contract 2020 so in the off season he signs with the Dogs for 2021 before he's even played a game with us. Management cracks it, lets him go early and we end up with RFM.
