Am I right about C loophole not working when 2 hookers playing? Someone posted here few days ago that people got caught out by this last season and didn't get the AE

The catch is that if you swap your captain for a playing reserve (hooker or not) then you will be left with only 3 reserves, as your captain will not become a reserve if subbed out.

You can get around this easily by just manually adding a 4th reserve yourself after making the swap. Otherwise you'll just be left with 16 players in action

The reason this can be an issue is that if you only have 3 reserves selected and all your selected players score, you don't get an AE. You'll need to select a new reserve on a bye/injury force the AE to come into play.
That is what caught people out last year. They ended up only fielding 16 scoring players, so didn't get an AE.

(NB this is how it worked last year, haven't tried it out this year)

Faufusi is great bye cover now if starting.

I'm actually not that concerned about him. 42 average over last month is ALL base stats. Can't see him going too much longer without a couple of meaties.

The only reason I'd sell him based on my team structure is that he has horrible byes to come.

My line-up for the week ahead. Brailey to McInnes. 14 trades and 53k left

    Smith, McInnes
    JWal, Graham, Sele
    Whitehead, Mannering, ET
    SJ, Frawley
    Cotric, Sione, Manu
    Guth, RTS, Slater, CNK

Guess it'll be between McInnes or Mannering for the C this week. Of course Graham is a concern but if he's named in the team, even if he's a late withdrawal he can't be out of action for too long.

Yeah but he's only getting 60 minutes now with Harris back & scoring 30's & with a b/e of 65 he'll bleed cash. Taumalolo will score 60+ so it's a win. However in saying that I have J. Graham & N. Brown & if 1 or both don't play I'll keep Kaufusi. I'll keep J. Graham unless he's out long term but if N. Brown is out I'll sell him.

Tempted to bin Moga for Tedesco. Both miss the same amount of games from here on in. Or alternatively Nofo.

Good call mate, was thinking he had only had one game at reduced minutes, not 2. Also got my bye numbers goggles on which can tend to cloud common sense sometimes.

For sure, but for anyone making a call on him its worth running the numbers to get a clearer picture of what you would likely gain and lose by holding him till round 19. The opportunity cost of holding him in many cases will outweigh the gains I reckon.

Depends who else is in your team mate, but for the loophole I tend to go with someone who is pretty consistent as the C. It would be a risk to put it on Teddy I reckon.

Smith, SJ seems ok, Although other options for the C could be JDB, Friend, Lolo, Merrin? I feel like those guys would offer more certainty than SJ & Teddy.

Its sort of pointless to have the C on teddy if you're trying to loophole. You may as well not loophole at all. The idea is to have the VC on someone volatile who may pump out a 75+. The person you have the C on is your insurance.

Whats likely to happen with TLT and SOO?

I imagine that SOO players are all likely to be named in the 25 in TLT to be dropped at a later date pending injury etc?

Bulldogs playing Sunday is super inconvenient with grahams possible injury.

Torn between holding him because he is proven, and not worry about the loss of coin because he is a keeper.

If Mansour gets named this week im buying him. RTS can continue to bask in his mediocrity in everyone elses team.

You'd think so aye. You'd also expect that teams like the Bronco's would get dispensation to add players to their squads if Origin injuries occur and the don't have enough cover in their 21.

Im in the lucky position of having exactly 17 this week. Thoughts on C and VC?

    Guys to chose from are:

Munster, RTS, JDB, Friend, Tolman, Merrin/Lolo (not sure who I will trade in yet).

Currently thinking Munster (vc) JDB (c)

Yeah unfortunately my other loophole captain options are Graham, Norman or Brown.... not looking good for ol' filth!

I got a bit confused before & just realised both F. Kaufusi & Lolo have already had 1 of their byes. I think I might sell N. Brown to get Lolo & keep Kaufusi because Brown still has 2 byes left & even if he plays this week the opposition will be targeting his ribs & one good shot & he could be gone plus the fact that he probably will have reduced minutes anyway.

Not pointless but yes, that is the main idea of the loophole.

I would essentially be using Teddy as a VC. Smith bangs out 45+ and I'm happy enough.
Smith plays limited minutes and scores 35-40 then I loophole and Teddy should make that at minimum and possibly pump out a 90, who knows.

Rather using Teddy/Johnson as a back-up captain as opposed to hoping Smith scores big.
