Did we sign him on that after his 1 or 2 games? I can't remember. Either way, he is a half, and it's the Tigers, if we didn't do stupid shit like that there would be something wrong, but any other team, then wow!
But fair point mate

Yep, massive motor. Kind of fitting he finished his last few years off the bench on smaller minutes and let the young fella's cop it. By all reports a fucking top bloke off field as well.

Re: 2017 Signings
Actually the more I think about it, 600k per season for a guy who could potentially end up as a superstar is a fucking steal.
He just has to accept the offer now.

Re: 2017 Signings
If its true that the cowboys have offered him 500k over 4 years, he would be silly to turn that down for 600k over 5 years, IMO.
He can stay where he is, learn off JT and others and not have the weight of the world on his shoulders moving to newcastle to be the next joey. Then again being the next JT in townsville could be a fair bit of added pressure anyway.
in saying that, 100k a year is a fucking lot of money plus guarenteed 600k for another year is huge.
some big decisions for him!

Re: 2017 Signings
Fucking hell.
We signed him.
$3.5mil over 5 years.
Plenty of time for him to backflip though - which will happen, because the League gods hate us and I'm not allowed to be happy.

Always liked the Knights, hopefully this move pays off for them but not sure he is going into the best environment to harness his obvious talent
Think they should of pushed hard for Barba

Ponga for $700k/year or Vaughn for $650k/year?

He's not the type of player we need around young players, we don't have enough experience around to keep him in check.

That is true, nice to see them building!
Also I'm a Huge fan of Paul Vaughn and massively underrated IMO, think he would be an ideal signing for the knights..Dragons apparently offered him $1.75 over 3 and I reckon he is worth that

He's signed with the Dragons for 650k a year I think I heard.
If we could sign two good props I think we're a team that can push for the bottom of the top 8.

Re: 2017 Signings
Didn't think it was signed and sealed mate! What I read mate was out of $650,000, $100,000 was going to be subsidised by the Raiders but I could be wrong!Honeysett wrote:

Ideal signing for the Knights, they need more players like Vaughn to provide the go forward and work in the pack that Ponga can capitilse off

I'd like Vaughan but if he's going for that much I'm glad he's gone to the Dragons.

I think $550000 is overs for Vaughn. But Good front rowers are hard to come by. Is he that good?
I would have loved him at newcastle, just the type of player we need. But I think that would be paying too much for him.
Then again I am happy as larry that we have apparently signed Ponga for 600k, which could end up being the biggest mistake in club history, or a fucking steal.

If its true, I am fucking stoked with that signing. It is now Browns job to get him to the club for next season, not 2018.

Re: 2017 Signings
I think he is fantastic, absolute workhorse who can bust tackles, I realise he fell out of favour at the raiders but that's 2 teams now who have already or going to pay him big bucksPieman wrote:

What other props are on that kind of money as a yard stick?

I have no idea mate, but I assume that is the higher end of the scale for props.
I mean, corey parker was on 230k so fuck knows
I know Jack Stockwell is on 350k and he is barely a FG player so I imagine someone like tamou is on 500k or so. Duno tho.
