The cases against the players always looked flimsy, and I guess now that's been seen to be the case.

I actually hope something (in the form of retribution for the players) comes of this to be honest.

I can't imagine the cops wasting their time on a case like this if it was a general member of the public and not blokes like this with a higher profile.

Whether they acted and then felt they were forced to follow through due to the media attention is something that needs to be thrashed out later internally amongst the cops - but if the RLPA had any testicles they would be ensuring players whom they apparently act for, aren't dragged publicly through the mud like this in the future.
