Jacob Loko's NRL career is in tatters after the outgoing Canterbury player was arrested over alleged possession of ecstasy on Saturday morning.
The Bulldogs confirmed in a statement that Loko has been "investigated by police in relation to possession of the drug ecstasy".
"The NRL integrity unit have been notified and the club will continue to investigate the issue alongside police," the statement read. "Whilst contracted to the club until the end of the month, Loko has been told he would not have his contract renewed for 2016."
Loko, who has never featured in first grade for the Bulldogs, was banned for four games after a wild city brawl with Manly's Jorge Taufua in March.
He was spared the axe by the club but was fined $10,000 with $2,500 suspended, given 150 community hours, a total alcohol ban with random alcohol and drug testing option for the club at any time and compulsory continuation of counselling and education programme.
Loko has not played NRL since the last of his 23 games for Parramatta in 2013. He pleaded guilty to high range drink driving in February.

Really sucks he has been so heavily involved in personal life issues. He looked to be an explosive center prior to his injury at the Eels.

Problem with him in the centres was he made a gazillion tackle breaks, but very very few clean line breaks. He would have made a great second rower eventually, but that will never happen now. Just the off field shit is enough, but top that off with his injury history, bloke won't play NRL again.
