We'll survive players having avoid slamming their heads into the opposition in a tackle.

Need to ban Jarome Luai from interfering with opposition tacklers , really grinds my gears ( Tommy Raudonikis would have sorted him out ).

I’m not up in arms about it, but May left his feet to collect Walsh, I understand the head clash was accidental but there’s no reason to launch into someone to make a tackle, I think an argument can be made that it was was reckless dangerous contact.

I would totally go off league if they did what union did & this potential liability is crap if you lace up the boots you agree & understand that league ain't for no pussies it's a extremely physical confrontational sport you agree to the risks & then to turn around & claim damages because league didn't protect you enough
if league offers you a sport & you agree to it's terms that is a contract & if you sue then you have broken the contract & you are liable.

actually in all my years of league (30 odd years played from about 8 or 9 to 39) i've had a few head knocks you don't see me acting like an invalid suing the auckland rugby league to get a few dollars. however it could explain a few things lol.

The risks aren't agreed to because they're barely even really understood still.
The research on CTE especially is in it's infancy.

As a fan of the sport and spectator I'm not asking these players to go to war and die for me. Especially not 18 and 19 year olds.
As the sport gets faster and athletes get stronger and more powerful, we're seeing more and more of these players develop dementia, CTE etc at earlier stages of life. No one wants that. As a sport I think NRL has to adapt to at least have the perception of caring about it's players.

Kind of agree, obviously he wasn't intentionally trying to smash his own face into his but it was a pretty dodgy tackle attempt jumping into him for no apparent reason (Walsh didn't really make any last second step/unexpected movement). In saying that I still don't think I'd want to see it result in a sin-bin and/or charge, will become a slippery slope. It's going to be a tricky one with how they decide to go.

I’ve been wondering why and perhaps it harks back to EasyTigers note a few days ago that our teams are shit compared to prior years after 2 weeks.

In other words, it’s the fault of Wong, Sitili, Hutch, Salmon, Luki, Chan, Kini, Levi, Rapana, Flanagan, Piakura.

I've gone and done Cook -> Lussick. Happy with that, would of started with him anyway if not for BA's fuckery.

Like many, I still have Wong to deal with. Original plan was to just cash down to Galvin. But as soon as i did that I scanned to my bench which showed this shower of shit:

    NRL Fantasy 2024 Part 18 - I see the problem Walsh has - Page 4 14_21_12

it's just plodders galore and I hate the look of it. Another 40 out of Galvin and he becomes $300ishk next week - not the end of the world.

I know it's a long season and cash gen is king at this point, but I wanna see some runs on the board and not have to look at plodder FC sitting on my bench

Apologies to all Turbo/Teddy owners - I will be bringing one of them in

It’s a controversial area and I don’t have a solution but we do know that head contact is bad and reducing head contact is good.
The only mechanism the NRL has to reduce head contact is to penalise. In order for it to work it has to be a significant enough penalty to change player behaviour (penalties, bins and suspensions in that order).
Regardless of what players ‘sign up for’ the NRL has a duty of care and I think we’ve all seen enough examples of the devastating consequences now to agree that they can’t ignore it.knowledge Grows and games move on.

Also union was a shit watch before they brought the head rules in. What about you that blue card for attempting an intercept rule!!!
