Just not ideal for my team mate. Hynes, Preston, IPap and Bula locked in keepers for Rd 17 on the bye. Also have Hedwards, Oloapu and Talau, plus origin players to back up.. Teddy, Grant, Cook and Carrigan. Would be all over Simpkin otherwise.

Yeah the more I think about it, option 2 is the plan.

At this point I think Munster is the guy I want, but DCE is also an option (will be about 770k), just depends on the circumstances going into R17 and which one is more likely to back up (helps that they play each other, so I will know who's in or out)

You can also get him in R18 if you really need to, at the cost of one price rise. I probably won't bother as I will already have a hooker for R19 in Liddle, but we'll see what happens.

Yep will definitely pencil Simpkin in for Rd 18 on the old Notepad file. Get a look at his minutes/bench and see how Koro is traveling. Doubt Cook will be available Rd 19, but might get lucky if he has a shocker and Robson goes well.

Chucking Tatola on the maybe out list. Mainly only useful for Rd 17 and a back-up MID for 19. Easy trade for some, but will have to think about it.

Moses will be a nervous watch in origin if people are holding. If he doesn't back-up first game Saturday against Dolphins, he could miss the next 4. 16 (origin), 17 (backing up), 18 (bye) and 19 (origin). Can't really afford to rest him with DBrown out, but will need to get through unscathed.

Scored 1046 but dropped 9 ranks to 166… claim fame with a sneaky W over easytiger in L4 which will keep a smile on the dial. Intimidating coming up against the big boys!

Yikes. Good effort to the guys at the top

Let’s the chaos begin today, bring on TLT

Good luck to everyone to manoeuvre

If Hynes is available for us this week then all I’m shopping for is a HOK, MID and a CTR.

Pretty sure that’s Simpkin and Matterson* for two spots and then a toss up for CTR

The problem with getting Simpkin and Hynes (for me, and I'd imagine for others too) is the number of Sharks/Tigers/Dogs I'll be holding in R17.

Have Bula, iPap, Preston, Oloapu, three of whom are probably keepers. Then add those Simpkin and Hynes. Take away Oloapu, who'll be redundant in R19 for SJ owners and can be sold post-16 even though he'll still be making good money. That's still five and playing short even if the Origin mob back up.

So, is the extra number in R16/19 worth the hit in R17? Probably...

Yep this is the problem. Have the same four as you already and was already a touch concerned about rd17. Getting Hynes is an obvious must so not sure about Simpkin, might have to just go without a hooker.

Boy am I glad I took the safe path and didn't get Moses even though I thought the chance was really low he was picked, that would've really topped off a poor week. Absolutely wild for Hynes though, gets 10mins off the bench at centre and then dropped, talk about hard done by.

Round 17 a bit of an annoyance more than anything. If I go ahead with planned trades I’ll be without 6 for that round.

Hynes, Simpkin, Bula, Preston, Perham and Oloapu before any backing up problems with Teddy and Carrigan.

Should have 11 trades heading into that round so Perham and probably Preston can be traded out at that point. Well that’s a future problem.

So far in 2 Origins I’ve had 4 fringe players get selected for Origin (Walsh and Frizell Game 1, Moses and Robson Game 2)

    Similar boat to most:

Got iPap, Bateman, Bula, Oloapu, Alamoti (trade)

    Wanting Simpkin and Hynes

Thinking Hynes will be a miss for round 16 and I'll evaluate whether to bring him in round 18 depending on Origin 2 results? Imagine bringing him in for round 16 only for him to miss 17/19, may as well just wait for the Chin.

I've got the opposite issue, already have Burton and Ponga (with WFB covered without him) but getting Hynes now feels like the right move. Only 8 trades left and already at R17 quota. Bought Ramien this week but the much better play for bye coverage would have been Penisini. Panic bought when Billy was out.

Cogger looked good though and great JS for the next month

Reckon I should bring in Ponga this week? Feels kinda now or never and I could use a HLF in the interim... trading out Reynolds probably soon so could use some cover.

Bird worth holding if you can manage it?

If I buy a CTR this week I will have 4 going forward (Manu, Lemmy, Bird, Rd16 CTR)
