They've identified Hynes and had him in emerging squad, then 19th/20th man, then the bench. One month ago nearly everyone would've said he's Cleary's obvious deputy and probably should be starting ahead of Luai without much hesitation.

12 minutes horribly out of position plus a dodgy game and suddenly there's a million reasons not to pick him

I love Ur take on all this RG, spot on imo. Its a right laugh. Where to from here for Hynes. Someone in the media will say something about it being part of his growth soon.

Rd15 was not a good time to check for rd16 numbers.

Moses to hynes doesn’t hurt to much as I’ve had him since rd2.

I won't have 13 for the next round. I don't intend drafting in any shitto's who will need to leave (already have enough of those). Cleary to Hynes and maybe a couple of sideways moves should take me to about 11/12.

Took the same approach last time around and managed to hold position by having a strongish team coming out of the bye.

It's an experiment which may backfire spectacularly but hoping I'll have enough bank & trades for some sideways maneuvering over the next 4-5 rounds to try and claw back any losses suffered in the major bye's.

Thought I'd try something different given the different format this year.

I think you're in the "heaps of trade left" category so you can possible make a sideways trade if you want numbers for this week.

If you're concerned about trades, Manu and Penisini both play R16 and could probably be classed as keepers so either of them would be OK (I think Manu's time at 6 may not last that much longer though, if that is a concern)
Maybe someone like Talakai/Ramien could also do
But a lot of good R16 options have a bye in R17, so be careful about trading yourself into trouble next week.

If you're sideways trading for a shor term option, can take a punt on someone like Best, Reimiss Smith, Izaak Tago, Plenty of guys who might go big just over the next couple weeks

Bit annoying for the KING to score all his tries the week before I look to get him as Plan C after Moses (Origin) and Brown (alleged groper)

Also need Matto to be selected, and eKatoa to be selected.

Then Simpkin or a MID gives me a full team for R16.

R17 is definitely the juggle. I feel like getting 17 out will be well ahead of the curve. I'll have 3/4 on byes.

Yeah currently have 3 guys you could consider as keepers at CTR so a bit reluctant to add one more or trade one of the current crop out. Manu useable this week and then can probably move down to WFB. Lemmy and Bird also pretty solid options if Bird returns next week.

Ideally it would be a three week punt and then Bird and Lemmy take over duties for Round 19 and the new guy can become whatever

Big news re Liam Martin for the Blues too - he can’t do contact until captain’s run due to the concussion against the Roosters.
Souths also unsure of when Latrell and Cam Murray can fully train. So three guys that will likely be underdone for nsw at Suncorp

Latrell and lesser extent Murray question marks makes the decision to go with a four forward bench even more curious..

R19 looks as easy to fill with forwards as R16 is difficult

At least until Hopgood and Horse play Origin 3

Apparently Murray and Mitchell did a fitness test over the weekend in front of Souths and NSW medicos. Was agreed between club and state they won't train until this Sunday. Along with Martin it's a lot of guys to carry into the game. Get it when it's club footy and there's months of training together, but I think for a 10-day camp and rep game I'd rather they just ruled these guys out and picked fully fit players. I dunno.

Yeah saw something on Fox saying Souths want their own physios in camp to monitor Latrell and Murray. Might aswell just play Crichton again and Latrell can sit. Scritta was one of our only decent ones last game anyway. Expected him or Burton at 14.
