People who haven't watched any Marvel movies and/or Star Wars series, are you just obstinately avoiding them, or your TV is broken?
Well, as humans we all have varying tastes. Not sure why it's a surprise to some that some of us never have seen these movies.
I saw the first two Stars Wars movie as a kid and thought they were the most boring things I've ever seen. Never saw anything else and have no interest in any of the new ones. Sci Fi is just not my thing.
With Marvel, as a kid, X-Men was by far my fav cartoon. It was the coolest thing ever. I also was big into the whole marvel trading card thing. As an adult, I checked out the first couple of X-Men movies and they were fine but obviously didn't create the nostalgia I felt from when I was a kid.
I think from there it's been overblown with the amount of movies flooding the market. I did actually watch one of the Thor movies and I hated the amount of one liners almost trying to make it a family comedy. Not much interest in Spiderman/Batman but at least the X-Men ones keep some of the darker tones, especially when it comes to characters like Wolverine.
We all just like different things. I'm not a big movie guy anyway but I keep coming back to the classics from when I was a kid. Being a metal head, Bill and Ted were the best things ever. What a couple of excellent movies. Don't mind me a classic Adam Sandler movie too like Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison.
The most moving moment Ive ever had though was seeing Saving Private Ryan at the cinemas as a 14 year old. I've never felt as uncomfortable in my life watching that opening scene on the big screen. I almost had to leave. What a movie. I'll never forget that.
