    R21 Trade talk R21_te10

Of the injured/suspended guys we only have Cleary.
We even had the foresight to ditch Kennedy last week.

3 trades left, 1 forced trade for Cleary to a WFB/HLF would be best for team balance, but otherwise its best player $842k and under.

Any arguments for a 2nd trade, or keep them both for future injury?

We can afford Cam Murray, but leaves us with no HLF cover

Else we could get Latrell, Munster, Dylan Brown, maybe even ARey

Could still get HLF cover if needed by shifting Mbye in and Hynes/Burton to HLF

Think Murray may be worth over outright HLF cover

Munster for me. DBrown would be my POD choice.

Murray is the best scorer we can afford, but I think that means Mbye is effectively cover for the entire backline? That seems insufficient. I think it's worth foregoing a few points a week and play a bit safer with squad balance.

Having a think, cover is partially overrated.

Mbye is basically going to be our cover, whether we trade in Murray or Munster.
Potentially Pole or Palasia will become preferred options, but current teams is going to be Mbye if one of our top 17 goes down.

Risk of Murray is that we may be forced into playing with 16 if we DCE/Hughes are a late out and Mbye + both Doueihi/Hynes are locked out too. Hynes is a likely C/VC option all season so can't rely on moving him. In 4 of the last 5 rounds DCE and Hughes both play before both Mbye and Doueihi, so every week except for R22 our cover is effectively the same whether we go Munster or Murray.

TL:DR Murray provides basically the same cover Munster does

    Good insight, thanks

Guess there are also 2 more trades to make, should additional cover be required.

Murray is the best scorer we can afford IMO

Can we utilise Hynes/Doueihi in the halves? That hopefully would mean we only need to cover either half OR wfb as we can switch them when we need to.

Munster is maybe the obvious choice but Latrell would mean we hopefully don't ever have to use Mbye at WFB for his terrible score.

Also maybe my brain is a bit broken and don't listen to me.

Another option is Palasia to Jock Madden who has probably got the halves spot locked up at the Tigers given no Brooks or Hastings for the season.

    .

we currently have Hughes and DCE in halves
    Burton/Aitken in CTR
    Teddy/Doueihi/Hynes in WFB

So we're fine as long as noone else gets injured.

Mbye as WFB/CTR cover. No HLF cover in the 14-17, but we can move Burton/Hynes/Doueihi to halves if needed with Mbye into WFB/CTR

If we trade in Latrell we could put Doueihi in 14-17 to help with cover, but Mbye would still be the 18th man to come in if Doueihi needed to go into starting team. So from that point of view if Cam Murray is considered a better scorer, we can trade him in ahead of Latrell/Munster and it doesn't really change our AE situation very much.

With 3 trades left, how useful is it spending one of them on a guy who won't be in our first choice 17?

Murray for me with three trades left, the best player we can afford.
