I've been looking at the trade system this year.

Disclaimer: I'm generally conservative with trades early and target the bye rounds.

    32 trades between rounds 1-19
You can trade 4 per week from round 13 onwards
4 extra trades kick in from round 20

Say you want to go hard at both bye rounds, you would probably be looking at 4 trades each week from 13-16 = 16 plus probably 4-6 to use either side.

My point is that to Target the bye rounds hard I need to save at least 20 of 32 trades. That leaves me 12 for rounds 1-12 and rounds 18-19.

I don't think it matters where you use your trades, but if you are going hard early you'll need to hold trades for a little bit somewhere before round 12.

For my team (based on official BEs):

Bully has a BE of 25 - if he matches his 20 last week he loses $5K - I'm having another look
Tuilagi loses no money this week, I'm waiting for next week
Nanai has a BE of 28, it's plausible he could exceed this and probably won't drop cash
Leniu - My last minute week 1 mistake has a BE of 12, will likely make cash
Ilias is the one I have the most concern about but I want to give him another week

I luckily started with both Kings

If I want Starling in one trade I'd have to let go of Sam Walker, and I don't think it is worth the trade, at this point, to punt that Starling will make cash over Walker, when the Roosters could improve.

So I'm holding trades, but I know this means I'll have no cash for Cleary and it will take a bit longer for me to get him in. I'm also missing Starling this week, and it is likely I'll have to miss Thompson too. But, you can't get everyone.

Im quite keen to grab TPJ for Crichton if he remains on the bench. Risky indeed. But could be a goer

Does Tago's tackle count drop with Cleary returning? Every long kick with SOS/Luai has been going to the Panthers left due to their left boots. Tago's tackle count seems to benefit from early set tackles.

I dont have him, but I do have Paulo and B Smith (of which I'd need to play one)... so am considering Tago now.

How to get him is a different question.

He showed last week he can his 50's without a try. So he loses 5 points a game to tackles. That is still 40+ points. Panthers have a decent stretch over the next couple months as well. Could be a lot of points on that left edge.

Played big minutes round 1 thanks to injury. 25min round two for <25pts.
No reason to get excited unless you think he's going to leapfrog NAS, Bromwich, King or Smith for minutes in the middle.

There's also a chance Tui comes back into play at some stage.

My opinion hasn't changed since last week. I think Yeo holds his current role until Cleary returns and then Panthers rest him where they can. Good option to have started with but I wouldn't trade him in now

Curran is playing like a man possessed and has the role until Tohu returns from injury. Even then he probably puts up good scores from the edge.

If it's one of the two I'm taking Curran

    Thoughts on the following:

    a) Lolo + Vailea -> Starling and May/Thompson + ~200-250k Cleary bank. Means playing 2 of Bullemor, Coates, Ilias and May/Thompson this week

    b) Bullemor + Russell -> Starling & Thompson + 2k. Less Cleary bank (plan would be Mahoney + Lolo -> Cleary + cheapie next week) but a stronger team for this week.

Probably leaning A at this point.

Agree mate. I’m holding Clark this week and lettinng stefano go for this exact reason. Stef loses money, whereas Clark will stay pretty still for Atleast another week.

Starling in is easy, nobody else screams out as I own MING, Leo and other options already

I think it'll drop. I was looking at him last week so checked NSW cup stats and he averaged 11-12 tackles there last year except for a game in the back row.

[quote="Liverpool_Bulldog"]Just thought I’d look at Crichtons bench scores since his move to the Roosters.
When starting on the bench he has averaged 43 points in 40 minutes of game time.

Surely it’s a one off thing and will hold, hoping he can get closer to 50-60 minutes [/quote

Yeah his bench scores aren't too bad and I'd have my doubts it's a permanent move for Butcher to the back-row.

I am tempted by a sideways switch to Curran though.

Yeah def concerns about Yeo. And no doubt restings towards finals which is always annoying

Irrational fear having multiple Warriors forwards (also have AFB and Aitken) but Curran probably a better pick overall
