Well, with the Raiders out for the season, st least I won’t have to watch anymore of that.

    Good game Roosters.

We have our first final averages (and thus prices) for next season. Few players of interest from Roosters and Raiders for me

Tapine - Yes he does this every year, but he had an incredible run home fantasy wise. Priced at 45.1 averages 51 starting at prop which happened for the last 6 weeks.

Smith-Shields - Priced at 36.4 average he looks like a Cotric clone. Given an off season to integrate with the team he might push it to a 45 average. My pick for a To'o like break out

CNK - Priced at 35.3 with a long term fullback average of 40. Will be very popular in preseason planning

Teddy - Ended the year slightly down at a 58 average. Will be popular again as a cheaper alternative to Turbo

Egan Butcher - Priced at 31.9 the kid looks a real talent. Not sure he will get the minutes needed but like his brother can score in bunches playing middle or edge.

Taukeiaho - After a strong run home he looks interesting priced at a 43.7 average. Return of Collins probably relegates him to a bench role.

Verrills - Another offseason to prepare for the big minute hooker role will do him a world of good. Priced at 37.4 he averaged 67 minutes per game from round 19 onwards. Could take the leap from timeshare to big minute man

Keary - Only got 3 games to start the year but saw everything I needed to. Assuming pricing system stays the same he will get a 21% discount (7 games less than 10 played) bringing him from a 63.3 average to ~50. If this season has taught me anything it's that whoever is next to Walker is going to kick the piss out of the ball. Add Keary's creativity and you have someone priced at 50 that could very easily jump to 60. Coming off ACL injury one to watch in preseason

Collins - Priced at 50.5 average from 6 games he will get a 12% discount taking him to ~44 average. Proved himself to be the big minute man in those games, letting JWH and Tauk play reduced roles as they age. Another one to watch in preseason but if he starts he is probably 5-10 points under valued

He was on 2 TB after about 10-15 minutes and I thought it was weird cause he clearly didn't break any.

I'll add from eye test only Hua Tapua from the Roosters bench. He looked a real goer as well as a unit.

Upside to this horror injury run is we have found out what the fringe first graders and young guys are made of. Egan Butcher, Fletcher Baker, Drew Hutchinson, Adam Keighran, Ben Marschke were on the fringes and showed they can play a role. Suluka-Fifita, Ben Thomas, Naufahu Whyte look like they need a bit more time to develop

If anyone looks at Taukeiaho's stats and thinks 2022 he will consistently outperform his average. Well I have nothing but laughter for you.

Haha yep he's tricked me into picking him about 3 times in the last 5 years.. and the one season he was WFB and a great pick I didn't pick him up lol.
Hopefully we've got less injured players to start the next season with no post NRL GF footy and a covid-free (hopefully) pre-season so they can build up to the season!

The only way I can see him getting close is if he kicks when’s he’s on. Those free points would be an absolute must you’d think

    Good game Roosters.

I don’t hate that the raiders lost to the roosters, I just hate that they lost like that.

Two teams I never thought I’d get around this year, manly and roosters. Nothing but respect for roosters, no arrogance just gritty. Also just loving watching manly play well.

    Fuck storm, Penrith, and rabbits.

Papy has the upside that none of the others do.

So if 2022 pre-season is the same as 2021 pre-season, you'll jump on. (2021 pre-season also similar to 2020, which was a bit like 2019)

Maybe in 2023 you'll have better luck

What about player position 22 and 23 lock out at the start of the first game like Captain and VC.
They won't be part of the Emergency players, but are your extended squad. (great spot for risky cash cows)

I wouldn't trust Fanhub to be able to implement that kind of system flawlessly.

And if they did, every week we would have 5 million questions about how to set a team up properly.

Oh I’m not going anywhere near. Just saying he will need goalkicking to get near it, especially with Collins fit

I'll avoid Tauk, But if Lindsay Collins is fully fit to start next year he will be very tempting.

I think a big factor is the bloke missing from this, Savage. Going to depend on how he slots into the team next year as to where the value is IMO.

Matty Timoko is who else I'll be keeping an eye on.
