Ah well, was good while it lasted. Can't blame Storm for not trying with their own record on the line.
Probably make them even more dangerous come finals

That was a great effort from Eels. Storm didn't throw anything real at the end. Can they keep it up for the next few weeks? I am not sure.

The Storm haven't played at their best for the last month. Great to see Para with an 80 minute effort and not too many silly errors.

Feels like Storm were going to lose eventually - Raiders and Titans pushed them, Eels even out of form a step up. Still was kinda hoping they’d keep winning until week 3 of the finals or the GF.

This loss was all part of the plan to get an easier opponent in week 1

All opponents are pretty easy for the Storm
I'm going with they needed that loss as a reality check for the GF vs. Panthers. Did it easy last year, but no Cam Smith and Cleary's more seasoned. This loss = another Storm premiership.

That result could possibly lead to a few less players getting rested next week.

Smith said when interviewed that he doesn't think it will change plans to freshen players up next week.

Yeah heard that but that doesn’t change my statement. There was talk the Eels were set to rest a number of players next week but with a top 4 spot chance alive when they play next week no matter the results in the games before would that still be the case?
As for the Panthers they could be going for minor premiership if the Sharks beat the Storm, a result more likely with multiple players rested.

Even if the Raiders lose to the Roosters the Sharks will still want to beat the Storm otherwise they will be relying on the Titans not beating the Warriors by a margin of around 18+.

Yeah fair call, especially in regards to the Eels.
