Surely Morgan retains his spot as he is more versatile, plus he doesn't run sideways like DCE.
Sorry, I was following on from the injury post in my head as well.  Yeah, if 1 of the incumbents is hurt then he is next cab off the rank.  Although I guess he probably was anyway.

If Thurston is injured for Origin, NSW win the series. He's that good.

smith and surgess were my first two picks and havent moved since.

i know alot of people are going with other options than smith this year but a full pre-season and a big break (no aus commitments/etc) this offseason, i reckon he'll be ready to score heavily again. its obviously a reliable pick

He comes up with the big plays in both attack and defence almost always. But Cronk really steers the ship quite well.

QLD just have a far superior side it's too hard to compete against champions. Our only hope is for all their stars to just retire from rep footy

    LEE!!!

to be honest i doubt any of them would get a run if there are no injuries.. but if say, thurston and cronk are both injured, it will make for interesting selections in the halves this year.

Macca is a no nonsense tackling machine. If you are replacing Smith, Macca/Friend are the perfect replacements. If you want a bench utility Seggy is your guy

Waste of a position then. Smith plays the 80 most games. DCE, Hunt and Morgan have played the utility role as an energetic spark player to create off the bench when the big forwards tire. Suits Seggy's game not Macca's

    I agree 100%
But if Macca is next in line to take over from Smith then it only makes sense to blood him in off the bench

About this time of year we get a few injuries in trials + 9's etc just to make things a little bit more exciting come TLT (or is it TLW).
