(from Panthers match report on nrl)

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said Capewell was likely to start in the back row in round one ahead of Liam Martin, who came off the bench.
"Kurt started out there last year," Cleary said. "We'll have to rotate our three back-rowers early in the season.
"Marto will do a bit of work in the middle but that's nothing new."

Thanks, exactly what I needed to know. Was worried that Capewell subs off for Kikau coming back on, but that implies Martin likely moves to the middle for JFH or Yeo to finish the game

Poaasa played 24 minutes as starting prop, and Vaughan played less than 40 minutes. Neither of which will continue either.

I'll probably avoid all Dragons middle/eedge forwards, as I can see them chopping and changing week to week.

Also from match report, says Faamausili went off for HIA

I see most people are saying that. I agree to a point but cant completely over look the stats and even the minutes in trials.

For example I was interested in J.Braileys stats and even fantasy points. How many tackles did he make in minutes played? How many kick or run metres? What was his PPM fantasy wise? Gives some indication at least to potentially choose players.

End of the day you cant choose a player just on how they went at trials but good to look at things from all angles.

I hear what you're saying, but coach motivations in a trial are completely different to in the NRL season - where it's what will win a game (not sure anyone is that invested in the result for trials), so the in-game scenarios don't necessarily match up as a true reflection of in season games - it might shed some light on possibilities but not much more

Was the Peach’s role similar to last year - ie come on late in the first half and stay in the middle until FT? Or was it one of those trials with 25 players and 38 subs so you can’t make much of roles?

What’s the go with Egan? See he went down and Jazz looking like first in line for hooker?

Same role. Got 50 minutes, came on at lock, Tino moved to prop, then finished the game at hooker.

I was keen on him already - passes the eye test - but may well take him over Isaako now.

Cheers - I’m tempted to splash the cash on him. Seems like the only CTR guaranteed to average 40s and is priced slightly below that. Might be a easier set and forget one CTR pos, and play roulette at the other. Problem is it means 150-200k less elsewhere

I have looked at doing that too, a CTR in fantasy that plays in the middle is gold but on the flipside he is the “Mr Fix It” for the team and could spend time in the backline if there are injuries during the game.

A small risk there and with all the cheap CTR options, I would rather take that route and spend $ elsewhere

I had him last season and that MID DPP can really come in handy, as a way to link backs and forwards. Gives real flexibility.

    Sharks - Bulldogs thoughts
Cotric looked great, busy & lots of fends
    Allan looked confident
Fifita looking good, but prob won't get enough mins
Waddell should score ok playing 80mins on the edge
Billy M playing around 65mins in the No.13 jersey, busy making plenty of tackles. rabbit tempting if he gets named there. Let's see what happens when Rudolf is back.
