Oh yeah it’s definitely long term.

Our 4 week absolute lockdown feels like a long time but really isn’t in the scheme of things.

Weird thing is announcement of lots of non essentials like gyms and pubs closing for 6 months. Would have thought 1 month would have been sufficient if they get it right?

Weird, is time stamped 34 minutes ago and linked on SMH site front page. Dont recall any discussion on closures for 6 months yesterday or earlier today.

I just read that The Panthers need to be added to this list. Apparently playing without spectators was going to cost them 5M, no games at all will cost another 5M, however with the club shutdowns that will add 30 M. Good luck all the clubs relying so heavily on Leagues Clubs.

I think Aussie is in a worse state than NZ.

We might be Ok with 1 month (I doubt it) but they already know they are in 6 month territory.

What we need to remember though is that everybody is in the same boat.

No ones gunna come out and say "yep this clubs done for" for a long time yet.

EVERY single business in Australia is virtually closing...society & govt will work around the issues in order of priority and find a way forward.

We just need to batten the hatches and weather the storm in the meantime Shocked

The absolute only answer I can see to this question is until a vaccine is created. If that is the 12-18 months away that people suggest it is, imagine the shape of the place by then. I just don't get the six month thing, though. If the six month pass and we all go out and try to resume life, what happens when the next person inevitably gets the virus again? We all go back into immediate lock down?

Just don't see how there is any end to this other than a vaccine, dark as that idea is

Looks like they updated the article, but tjat news is from the 9pm announcement last night.

Everything was shut as of midday earlier today.

Centrelink lines for blocks and blocks everywhere today since a hell of a lot of casuals lost their jobs last night.

Pokies fund heaps of pubs/clubs in NSW. They will all struggle. Ideally when we start back up again, they can learn to do it without pokies. We'd be a better society without them.
