Pearce probably yes but isn't SST starting on the bench so he's a maybe bordering on a no.

    Thanks for the replies, chaps.

I was thinking that neither is guaranteed to outscore 39, but surely both get close at least, both with the potential to go bigger. Even if SST only plays limited minutes; say around 40, he's still pretty good for a point per minute, isn't he?

It's all a risk, but I feel like it's one that needs to be taken. 6 more points and I'd ride Mahoney out. Sad

Like most of the other "late" hits I think it's bullshit. But the way they've been judging these it's late. Worse it was a shoulder charge. Worse he then started a melee. Hence my he's fucked comment. But, in my opinion (different situation) if you bring the ball right to the line, turn, pass, you're gonna get smashed and that's the way it should be. If you don't wanna be smashed, don't bring the ball right to the line, a defender who has committed to you can't pull out. It's been that way forever. Slowing it down gives me the shits. Cronk is the obvious example. I hate the expression, but the game's going soft.

    Agree completely,

They should stop slowing it down to see if the defender is actually committed.

Cronk knows how to milk em better than most. Like last week, Tevaga didn't get suspended so that's got to mean he was committed enough? How can they make some consistency to the law?

That shoulder charge was the culmination of about 15-20 minutes of stupid play by N. Brown. It started in the 1st half when he decided he would rush out of the line & try put a big shot on & 4 missed tackles later I was thinking what's got into him. Then it just snow balled from there to him getting sin binned. And doesn't N. Brown have the face you just want to smash.

I sure as hell want to smash him rn.

If I assume current price is a good balance between season long form and current form, the “best” team of 19 heading into last few rounds is:

    McInnes
    Haas, JFH
    Lolo, Murray, Mau
    Moses, DCE
    Bateman, Mitchell
    Teddy, Milford, Ponga
    Smith, Cook, Munster, SJ
Hodgson, Klemmer, red dot, red dot (or Lodge, Cleary)

Excluding red dots, I have 13.

Based on pure season averages the best team is similar: JFH to Taupau, Mitchell to Nikora, Ponga to Turbo, SJ to Jurbo, Hodgson to Matto.

Mau is the one that caught me by surprise.  I knew he’d been in good form but I fell into the “he can’t keep that up” camp.

(And yes, I’m meant to be working.)

    WHAT A LOAD OF BULL!

Eels coach Brad Arthur thought Nathan Brown was attempting a tackle and not a shoulder charge when he made his controversial hit on Bulldogs fullback Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

Brown was sin-binned for what was deemed a shoulder charge by the on-field officials in the 47th minute of Thursday night's upset loss to Canterbury at Bankwest Stadium.

The vision looked damning but Arthur wasn't convinced that Brown hadn't attempted a genuine tackle.

"I haven't had a real close look at it but I thought his arm was away from his body [constituting a tackle attempt]," Arthur said.
