Johnny B Goode wrote:I'm in a dilemma regarding Matterson. Him playing Origin doesn't worry me, I think he's going to actually but he'll be a good POD if people are shying away from him because of it.

My dilemma is if I get him this week, I pretty much lock myself into having to trade SJ into the HLF's because I won't have the cash to get anyone better.

I mean conversely though if I get a gun HLF in like Milford then I don't leave room to get a good 17th scorer or at least nobody that has good scoring potential that's going to be priced in the low 600k range.

Who is the 17th scorer going to be with Milf

Taukeiaho is only $636k and I think is the best option in that price range
Cheaper options are Ma'u, Peats. Finucane, Harris, Kikau

Is Matterson + SJ better than Milf + one of those?

No one answered Watson question last week so I played safe and went Dearden

My trades currently have me cashing out for my eventual 18th man wfb/ctr cover and I don’t know why but I going to pick Cotric and then clicking on Dugan instead... Vomit
He averages 4 points higher for about the same price, will play the extra bye round and “IF” he doesn’t get injured has decent fantasy pedigree...

As a Cleary owner do we think Maloney is going to continue getting all the kick mtrs or was last week just a 1 off. Has anyone heard why this happened e.g. Maloney pushing his case for origin, Cleary being a bit sore in the leg area after origin, etc. I'm actually thinking of selling Cleary to Milford because you get the extra game & because if Cleary doesn't get at least couple of hundred km's each week then he won't crack 50 points. Thoughts & thanks.

Same thing happened at origin last year = Cleary was quite for a few weeks before kicking on after origin.

Cleary was also returning form injury around that time which would have played a part.

I did a search on 'Watson' and he was mentioned 43 times between Monday and Friday last week.

Half of the time it was in relation to his viability in the team.

Please remember to use the search function if you haven't read all the posts and want to know the general consensus on a certain player.

Well if it continues then Milford could outscore Cleary by 10-20 points each week over the origin period.

I need to upgrade 5 positions and I have 10 trades left. Unless 5 212k players turn up in the next couple rounds I think I wont be able to make it.

I have my final plans set!!! After some extensive looking and running of numbers this is my next 4 rounds.
    R14 - JFH/Tolman/Arey/Sivo > CS9/Bateman/Watson/SST (22K, 7 trades remaining)

    R15 - 0 Trades

    R16 - Martin (roughly 540K)/CNK (roughly 550K)/Dearden 348K > 212R16/212R16/Rymat (roughly 790K)
    246K and 4 trades remaining
    [10 players in R16]

R17 - Watson (roughly 650K)/Xerri (roughly 630K) > Turbo (roughly 700K)/DCE (roughly 770K)* or the most affordable in form half.
    56K remaining and 2 trades

    Team:
    Cook
    Fifi Haas
    Taupau Murray Tolo
    Cleary DCE*
    Nikora Bateman
    Teddy Turbo Ponga
    CS9 CM9 Rymat NPR
    SST Mann NPR NPR

Surely this is all pretty reasonable?

*** NOTE *** If RyPap (or similar cheapie/cow) finds himself with the #1 (or starting spot) he will be in my team over Turbo (or the likes) to help fund a proper 18th man.

My current trades leave me with McInnes and Sivo for this week. Wondering if I make slight changes to my trades to grab SJ and Bateman instead.

    Hmmm thoughts?

If teddy is out for 1 or 2 weeks do you use one of your 2 remaining trades or will one of your 212 npr be a wfb that plays

Are you talking about after R17? If that is the case Watson > Turbo can be pushed back a week to R18.

He techinically hasn't been released by the Storm yet. The Storm are looking for a replacement outside back before they release Drinkwater. As a fantasy fan, I hope to see him released prior to June 30, to see how he goes.
