If Flanagan is issuing orders behind the scenes, then surely most of the coaching staff in place is in a buttload of trouble as well?

I agree with Oz in an oblique way. Not sure I want their title stripped (though it makes for good times down at the local needling Sharks fans), but the Storm saga has pretty much desensitised us to this sort of cr@p.

if the Storm hadn't got caught out, I reckon we'd all be a lot more outraged by this blatant pattern of cheating by Cronulla. In this day and age though? Who cares?

    Sigh

Yeah this rings so true, and it is hard to feel like the bad guy/club when we are about the 6th or 7th club to have a dabble at it.
2016 was an Oasis, a permanent notch in the memory bank. I havent seen anything to suggest thats in danger of being erased.

Wade Graham has signed up for another 4 years, no hesitation and sounds stoked in his press release video.

Thank fuck we didn’t sign him in the end, Tigers need a big damaging ball runner not a skilled one. I love him, just wouldn’t have suited us I don’t think.

In case anyone missed it. Flanno has stood down as Sharks coach, citing the emotional and physical toll of being a drug cheat, cheating the salary cap and cheating while being suspended for cheating too great to continue.

Might be worth a sneaky pineapple on the Sharks this year. Since when did not being employed as Coach ever stop him in the past? If anything, it helped!

So am I right in saying that means Cronulla's penalty for breaching the salary cap either side of their premiership season is actually less than the Tiger's penalty for making an offer for the future employment of Robbie Farah, that had it been accepted, would have put them over the cap in a future year?

self reporting the original discretion seems to discount the penalty far to much, i'm pretty sure the warriors punishment like 10 years ago was made way more lenient then it would have been had they not dobbed them self in

they did also get a further 500k fine for the flanagan stuff

Everyone's favourite Kent - Paul didn't hold back on NRL 360. No one was stupid enough to believe the Sharks weren't cheating their premiership year, but interesting how the NRL have worded it "they were salary cap compliant"

    Next stop Cottosloe Beach

According to The Australian’s Brent Read, the Sharks’ football club lost $3.262 million last season. This was remarkably an improvement on the previous season.

“The Sharks exist on the smell of an oily rag, mounting losses off-set by mounting loans,” Read writes.

Every game of every round of the NRL LIVE with no ad-breaks during play. Get it all on Foxtel.
According to the report, the Sharks have a $1.5 million debt due next week to private lenders while a further $2.5 million loan must be paid bach in March next year.
In order to service those loans, the Sharks are looking to sell their interest in a major development around Shark Park which includes a shopping precinct and 880 apartments.

If they sell out of that development it's over for them.

Maybe if they didn't go over the salary cap the last few years they wouldn't have lost as much money.
