What happened to McInnes? Is he gone??

Ah Yeah, forgot McInnes. Point still stands though, once people have gotten the guns in their team, there is still room to add more round 17 players which is why people are starting to look at guys like Luke, Merrin etc.

Hmm one could make a case for trading in Luke in R17:

561 over 13 games = 43.2. However, Rounds 8/9 injury affected so removing them gives 531/11 = 48.2. As at the start of R17 Luke would have 9 games left - 48.2 = 434 pts. A R17 bye player would have to average 54.2 over their 8 games to match this. Non "spuds" such as Nathan Brown and Angus Crichton average less than that for ~ $200K more

Yup, I agree. I think for people who haven't generated enough cash to get an all out gun 18 then the above option or things similar could be the way to go to up your ranking a bit. It's the $200k less part that is where the idea starts to get very appealing...

With 12 trades remaining - I'm considering whether it is worthwhile burning a couple of them on triangle trades such as:

    Murray > Hodgson > Jturbo
    Alvaro > Luke > Fifita

Would give me a potential 80-100 points in R17 over the straight upgrades for the price of 2 trades.

To put in perspective : 100 points would bump me from rank 161 to rank 67.

I don't think I have the cash generation to have a solid 18th man. Was hoping of having Tapine as 18th man.

    Cook
    Fifita Alvaro
    Jurbo, Taupau, Tolo
    SJ DCE
    Aitken Jcroker
    Ted, Ponga, Hiku

    Smith Harris McInness Tapine

    Fonua, TMM, Fainu, Perret.

    8 trades 63k In bank.

    Plan ahead:

    Hold trades in rd 16.

Rd17. Fonua + Tmm to RTS and someone around the 250k mark (hopefully someone who will generate cash quick) Hiku 18th man

    Rd18/19
Pending any injuries, make trades to improve 18th man. Hiku or Tapine out. Farah to Tigers id be all over! Post rd 17 I think Tapine will peak. He wont keep an average of 60 (5game average.) and will peak after rd 17 id say. Might look at a few cut price keepers following SOO.

I would absolutely be doing that. Perhaps not those exact trades but the triangle trade idea makes perfect sense for those with trades in the bag!

I wish I had the trades to do that.

I may need to move Fitz on if he's suspended so may do something similar with him

Tapine seems to fit the bill quite well.

Am I crazy for planning to sell DCE and bring in SJ for 17 not 16. Had a feeling that score was coming. 13 missed tackles last 2. Lost kicking. I have Arey/Doueihi and Mbye as other available halves and may get Mann

How can you be looking at trades when you weren't looking at your team until next week?

701 rank and 10 trades to go.

Worst trade was getting in Dugan about 3 weeks ago when he got scratched late. Have held him so better bloody play next week.. Best trade in was probably Holmes as a conservative cash out at about $320k, almost doubled.

Just did some back of the envelope numbers - with 4 more trades I should be able to get the following team by Rd 18:

    Cook (Smith)
    Fifita, Tapau, (Surgess)
    Taumalolo, Harris, Arrow (RFM)
    SJ, DCE (ARey)
    Mitchell, Dugan
    Teddy, Ponga, Trbo

Isaako, Holland, Doueihi, new player up to 400-450k

How critical is having a decent 18th man? I'd have 6 trades left, so provided I follow the team changes closely, I'd be able make like for like last minute trades if needed?
