Some of the trade ideas I've seen floating around here make me think most just trade the flavor of the week and don't look too far ahead.

I feel I've lucked out with most of my cows and double traded almost every round so will have my final 17 within the next 2 weeks yet I still won't have an 18th man (Hiku not counted).

With less players in our squads from years past has made it so much harder to make money and run a decent 18th

On current prices I have enough to afford a 17 I will be mostly happy with, with a over $100k to spare.

That involves having pretty much zero depth though (unless a playable cash out appears)

Will be hoping to have an 18th man of relative quality.
Rhyse Martin my only current player who still has significant cash to make, so slight concerns about where the extra money will come from, and not a lot of trades to make that cash.

I'm three players short. Two of them are TTurbo and Arrow. I have bank for turning JMK into TTurbo. Martin will turn into Arrow when the stars align (origin, breakevens etc). Im flexible on the final piece of the puzzle. SJ or Cleary would be sweet so I can push Matterson to the interchange.

Will run with Koro as 18th man assuming Murray gets good mins. Injuries and drunkenness will throw this out of the window!

I think to much planning is overrated in the fantasy game, you cannot anticipate umpteen things going forward, literally. If you plan to have cover, plan to have an 18th, plan for the byes and plan for origin etc... it just aint gunna come together. Good intent and all, but for me gut feel and a bit of a punt can also work, loads more risk associated with it, but u can come out ahead at times or make an error and need to rework it. But with the unpredictabilty of sport and fantasy thats coming ur way anyway (rework).
A long post about nothing really, i know... but a mad mans approach maybe.

You cant have lucked out to much if ur 17 is coming together?

Also with the trading and/or flavour of the week type thing, it may occur and be what some do, but at the same time i think the amount of hesitation some have with letting guys go is amazing, uve gotta move guys around or its going to be to late. Milk a cow dry and hold if for certain reasons etc, before u know it it's the penultimate round !

This post i part blame to being on the train.

Hard to ignore this week, if you're going to get him next week anyway.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I don't necessarily need him but I do fear him busting an 85.

I still have Maloney and its questionable whether he's worth keeping another week, but I'm hesitant on DCE as I reckon he is a reasonable shot at playing origin.

Either RFM or Kikau. I will be more pissed off if he cops an injury or suspension than if he hits an 80.

We'd all love to bring in a bunch of rod 13 guns now and trade them all for rd17 guns a month later, but trades and cash mean that compromises must be made.

I'd rather get him now whilst I can than wait a month and have his price go out of reach, and hope that another cheap option has become available.

Can you not wait on Harris until R14 mate

I feel I’m in a good position for my final 17. Only 5 players I want to bring in. Surgess, Smith, Cleary, Jurbo and maybe SJ. I have 13 trades left and 601k in the bank

With my Kikau to Arrow and JFH to Harris trades locked in I believe I have 13 keepers in my team now so I'll need to fill 4 spots with 14 trades remaining(obviously a few reserved in case of injuries of course) Do you think this will be achievable if we assume Murray or TPJ will be a cash out at some point?

I’m still battling to make any ground with scores in the mid 800’s, but I’m liking how the team is taking shape. Havali > Marsters (fucks Aubbs off) and Eisenhuth > Crichton. Koro out for one game, JMK needs to show something or he’s gone and hopefully Thompson back on the wing and Inglis at FB might get a decent score. Leaves me with 19 trades, no cash, and this mob.

    Cook
    TPJ, Kikau
    RFM, Crichton, Fitz
    Cleary, DCE
    Inglis, Marsters
    Ponga, Thompson, JMK

    Matterson, Murray, Brimson, Cogger

Koroisau, Douehie, Aubbs the cunt and Kennar.

Wrong country anyway mate, its the ATO I gotta worry about over here though they've waived some fines and interest on the returns I filed late so far. Hopefully that continues!

When I was working for ATO I was in the debt/early intervention department. Think you will be getting a fine in the mail shortly Wink

So you see Murray as apart of your final 17? I'm planning on upgrading him after round 13, that Rabbitohs pack is just too stacked and unless an injury happens i can't see him averaging over 50 from here on.

Does everyone see Fonua as a gun CTR after only 3 games? Is he being grabbed for dpp update? cash, R13?

He ticks them all at the moment bar the Gun bit. Bloke is an animal. Not sure I want him but can see the appeal. I do feel like persevering with Hiku and Isaako, last round showed the head duck that the Centre possy can be.
