I learnt this when I didn't pick SBW on his return due to his shit cuntery.

Anyone starting Sam Williams in their halves. He's 298k & looks like being the starting half for round 1. Looks like he'll be the organising half so will get plenty of kick metres plus with Papali running off his shoulder he could get a few assist attacking stats. He has a b/e of 20 so he also will be a good cash cow as I expect him to score 35-40 points.

The argument against picking Taupau was always his minutes & how when Lussick started this resulted in Taupau playing low minutes. With Lussick out for up to 6 weeks does this bring Taupau back onto the radar. We have discussed how Fonua-Blake benefits but not Taupau.

I had a look at AFB's stats and I can't see much upside, even if he gets the starting gig with Lussick out.

I'm looking at starting with Alvaro and Lodge...
With an eye on Jbrom if he starts to post old-school gun scores

I agree re AFB & if Alvaro starts he'll be very tempting. I have J-Brom but I have my doubts. Even though NAS will start from the bench he looked really good in the trial. He looks very fit & his run metres of 117 weren't that far behind J-Broms's with fewer minutes.

    You are right....there's about a 10 point difference...hmmm scratch

Even so...Lussick should only be out for a few weeks with the season start 2 1/2 weeks away

He is nice and cheap, but I don't trust his job security.
And not confident enough in his potential scoring to take the risk

IMO-Sam Williams attacking stats will rely heavily on his forward pack dominating (as is the case for most halves, but I think this is especially the case). Williams isn't afraid to run it, but unlike Austin or JRey, he only runs when its a reasonable option. If forwards are getting pumped, he will just shovel the ball on and score poorly.

Have you seen the size of the Raiders pack. I can't see them getting pumped. Even if this does happen Williams kick metres will be high to get them out of their own half.

Did you watch the raiders 2017? As a raiders supporter, i'm not confident they will improve.

1 shit game and Williams will be dropped and Sezer/Austin will come back in. It's Sezer that will be dropped in favour of Williams, is that right?

Didnt Taupau's minutes drop off because he was carrying a rib injury?

What are the best two on the cheap options for the WFB position starters.

    Ideally under $600k total.....

Going of trials, Williams and Sezer started, Austin playing a utility role from bench. Every chance this is a smoke screen and Williams will just be used as a back up.

But you're 100% right, even though Williams has some support in Canberra, he will get hooked fairly soon after a poor game or two.
