I've got teddy as Captain and don't think I'm prepared to risk him playing and producing a rubbish score.
If I swap teddy with turbo now i can't reserve tedesco right?

Yes, if you swap Teddy with TTrbo, then Teddy will be out of your 17 altogether.
If TTrbo is currently a reserve, then you'll need to pick a new 4th reserve

At what stage does one just give up on overall and aim for h2h?

I dont really understand h2h unless you have a really strong group of mates playing in a league. All my mates are slack and give up on their teams after week three or pick players like jack wighton and daniel tupou cos "theyre gonna kill it this year, just you watch"..
Always overall for me.
