Nrl pre season position rankings - winger Empty Nrl pre season position rankings - winger

see fullback for details on what this is about here: https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t425-nrl-pre-season-position-rankings-fullback#91518

    my top 10 for wingers

    1. Semi Radrada - been full of controversy the last 18 months, but when healthy, still an amazing athlete
    2. Jordan Rapana - plenty of good wingers but most still rely on the work of others, rapana does that a bit with BJ but i think him and semi are more likely to create somthing out of nothing on a regular basis then the rest
    3. Bmoz
    4. Mansour
    5. Oates
    6. SKD
    7. Feldt
    8. Alex Johnson
    9. Mead
    10. Hoffman

found rounding at that list pretty hard, there is reason why alot of the times rep wingers play centre/fullback at club level, alot of solid players but not a huge amount of standouts

    1. Radradra - By plenty.
    2. Mansour - Makes so many hard yards that set up field position and strong close to the line.
    3. BMoz - Been up there for so long
    4. Oates - forgot how to catch a bomb in the last 2 months of 2016, but definitely quality
    5. Rapana - Personally felt he overperformed last year, but happy to be proven wrong
    6. Vatuvai - probably overrated by me based on past exploits, but I still have a soft spot for the old guy, and fit I'd have him for sure.
    7. Winterstein - massively under-rated IMO. Safe as houses
    8. SKD - had a career year last year and should be higher but I just keep remembering all the dumb stuff he does (on field - not just in picking girlfriends)
    9. Feldt - young guy who should get better as well.
    10. Nightingale - Poor year by his standards last year. Maybe he'll bounce back, or maybe he's just getting old. He does have the best part of a decade of credits behind him.

This assumes Holmes is classified as a fullback, otherwise I'd probably have him about 3 or 4. Same with Kahu as a centre, he'd sneak in at about 9 or 10 if he's a winger. I've intentionally left out the other Warriors winger, as who knows who that'll be. They're probably all fringe top 10 as well. Realistically, if I was picking a rep team and had to pick a specialist winger, I'd only be really happy with the top 5 or 6.

Edit. Just thought of Tupou. He should probably be ahead of Nightingale. He needs to get involved more though. I'm not convinced Vanivulu isn't a flash in the pan yet. JAC has potential as well. Is Nofo a wing or a centre? If Idris is playing centre and Simona was lined up for the other spot before his indiscretion, then maybe he should be classified a winger? Who the hell knows.

I would also say that apart from Radradra, and maybe Mansour and BMoz, I would definitely have the following Rep Wingers before any of those guys:
Boyd, Holmes, Gagai, Hayne, Chambers, Munster (hasn't played rep but I'd definitely have him on the wing before plenty of the above crew), Hoppa and probably a few others I've forgot.

while orders will vary from 2-5, i think the top 5 is pretty clear imo, after there is a bunch of guys who could be there and as you said alot of it is not knowing who ends up there at teams like the warriors, if lolohea spends the whole year there, i am sure he causes havoc and finishes in the top ten

    1. Semi - everyone knows how good he can be
    2. Bomz - been one of the best wingers in the league for ever now
    3. Mansour - when he is healthy he is amazing at getting out of his own end and is a great finisher, his hands let him down tho
    4. Oates - struggles bringing the ball back from a kick but besides that he is pretty great
    5. Vunivalu - a year of pre season under his belt, no reason he isnt going to get better
    6. Rapana - time will tell as to whether he over achieved last year
    7. Johnston - looked sharp in the trial, still got great speed
    8. Feldt - is alright, but who ever plays right wing for the cows generally looks alright thanks to JT
    9. Ross - the guy looks good on the end of one of the worst teams in history, he would be awesome on the end of a good backline
10 - vatuvei has been great, if he can stay healthy the bloke is a genuine match winner but also a genuine match loser

obviously there are a host of other players who can fit in and play on the wing.
It wouldnt shock me of Branko Lee ended up as one of the better wingers in the comp come the end of the season if he plays there

I agree with most lists for players who actually play wing for their club, but I'd easily pick someone like Boyd over Semi.
