@Boozy, you've probably done a bit better then this haven't you

I'm at 227th, but also no trades left. Have a little bit of back up, but hoping that ALL the wheels don't fall off.

They just didn't live up to any expectations fantasy wise IMO. I started with that many and really nothing special in the pack this year.

    Surgess

    Whitehead
    Carty
    Leuluai
    Claw

Its nice that Carter is leading too - highest score and featuring twice

no doubt he would feature more if he wasnt suspended as much and or sacked

Nice work there Blue, must be a lucky colour Wink

While I tried to plan a bit for the byes, I had a lot of setbacks with bye friendly players pulling out just before it started but this can happen.
Due to trading hard so early I also opted to have a consistent team across the period even if it meant not having a full team and chose bye friendly keepers to save on trades.

By the time the byes started my team was already pretty settled and to be honest wasted a few of my precious trades trying to build 'depth' being burnt on Lolohea,Hurrell etc

Anyways probably easier to show you on this graph

    Smith, Friend
    Graham, JBrom, JTrbo
Gallen, Surgess, James, Cartwright (Aloiai, Leuluai)
    SJ, Hunt, Cleary (Feeney)
    BJ, Aitken (Gutherson, Fine)
    Teddy, Munster, Barba (Hughes, French)

6 trades left. 1 is going to be JTrbo - Fifita.

Thinking also Cleary or Hunt - Thompson or Mannering?

i like the first trade, and you cant go wrong with the other ones, mannering probably slightly better. have you thought about harris?

i would love to have harris in my team at 413k hes a bargain.

My graph looks similar but I'm expecting it to start climbing now, and yes "sets", thats a graph.
I only wish I didn't need to patch so many holes early in the season so I still have trades left for the usual late season injuries, rests and suspensions. I hope next year I can pick the right team from the start, but I guess if I could do that I could guess the right Lotto numbers and could be laying on a beautiful tropical island surrounded by a gorgeous women instead of playing this overly stressful game.

No I hadn't considered Harris actually, he didn't seem consistent enough for my liking but I'm open to being convinced otherwise lol

Going Norman - Tedesco via Hughes and SST - Thompson will give me:

    Smith, (Macca)
    Surgess, Fifita, (Graham), Leuluai
Gallen, Merrin, Mannering, (Whitehead), (Thompson), Sua
    Cartwright, Pearce, Cleary, Hughes
    Claw, Aitken, Gutherson, Griffin
    Tedesco, Barba, Munster, Murphy, Manu

and 3 Trades ($44k) left for the run home..

Cleary, Gutherson - 18th/19th men as cover for injuries initially then upgrades if required when H2H finals start.

Ranked 900 odd overall but probably more concerned about H2H. $50 buy in cash league with friends, at this stage the Top 8 are all ranked in the 1000.

Hopefully this works lol jumping on the image posting bandwagon. Second year in a row I've had a horror round 1, except this year I am actually in the top 1000 for the run home. Hopefully it stays that way.

Squad with 6 trades left. Currently considering saving them all for injuries

    Smith, Friend
    Surgess, Graham, James, Nutira
Merrin, Parker, Harris, ET, Whitehead, Leuluai
    Hunt, Cleary, Taylor, Cullen
    Aitken, Gutherson, Su'a, Talakai
    Munster, Barba, Mitchell, French, Manu

Reasonable but nothing to write home about. Got a bit excited in the early rounds this year and became trigger happy on the trades.

Glad that round is over huh !

Gents if you were to fire jturbo this week would you vote Harris or Manners ?

Leaning towards Manners because if Storm suffer injuries Harris might be moved into the centres or halves but that could also be a positive if becomes a DPP

With Manners my team would look like this (4 trades left after trading in Manners/Harris with 76k bank)

    Smith,Macca
    Fifita, JBrom, Graham, NPR
    Manners/Harris,Gallen,Surgess, Whitehead, ET
    SJ,BCart, Cleary, NPR
    CLaw, Aitken, MCK18, Copley
    Teddy,Munster,Barba/Gordon,NPR

Bit of a pickle with ET and Cleary for 4th reserve slot but my thoughts are if injuries come into play both of them will be more than handy.

The only other trade I am looking to do at this stage upgrade Gordon to Walker but thinking could be overkill and better to save trades/bank ?

Next year my goal will be to get a solid team together from round 1, and bank trades right through to round 10 or 12.

And of course this time next year I will still be saying why do I have no trades left, because no self control that's why.

I'm looking at all these teams with insane forward depth and then I look at my team with a really lame HLF and some very average CTR's and wonder how I'm still ranked 1272. Oh well some things defy logic like how Anthony Griffin is employed as a coach

    Smith, Rein
    Graham, Fifita, Surgess
    Gallen, Cartwright, Merrin, Bodene
    Hunt, Milf, Cleary
    Leilua, CLaw
    Teddy, Munster, Barba

4 trades left and 94k sitting in the bank. Leilua is on borrowed time though, I swear one more sub-par score and I'm getting J Roberts back in.
