Only 12 trades left, so keep on minimising churn. But Hopgoat and Tapine are very sensible-seeming options.
I would probably say Young in that case as you probably want Haas back

Young guaranteed to miss 13, 16, 19, 20 if in all Origins (R14 less than 2 day turnaround + travel) so might be unavailable for 2 minor byes whereas as Haas possibly available for both

Depends on what the 140k does though

On this note it's good to have a think about who the cheapest players are that could possibly end up keepers

Aside from the WFBs (Teddy, Turbo, Ponga), I think you are looking at the likes of Elliott, Koroisau, JFH, Taumalolo

If you are right on Elliott he could go close to the big guns for 300k cheaper

    Wow he actually responded.

TLDR: The site doesn't work sometimes, and they check some but not all of the players in case the algorithm goes funny. Also Butters is hiring someone so he doesn't have to work 60 hours a week on this thing. Manually inputting expected player minutes each week? Surprised he kept that up as long as he did.

With 19 trades I think one punt is definitely acceptable and due to funds this week it’s looking like Elliot will allow me to grab a couple of guns in other positions

I was thinking about this too and currently have JFH pencilled in for a buy in R15-16 if he bottoms out around then, he's currently 584k and dropping, while averaging 51.2 in games over 40 mins

Tohu is in that bracket of underpriced guns, averaging 60+ in the 80 min role when priced about 50

I am trying to figure out a combination of other players that I want that allows me to get Tohu back in, but it means finding cheap players in other positions that can score decently and have job security. Really difficult to do.

There is none mate.  Ponga at his price or maybe old mate from the Dolphins if he starts but probably still not worth it heading into next week.  I've been looking through a few times hoping I've missed something but it's all a mirage in the desert.

This was also part of my reasonings on flicking Haas, unfortunately.

Harris is the best value MID available right now IMO

Think JdB is the one I'm missing, even with his price 200k more than a few weeks back when others got on. Would sideways from Haas if I didn't need the trades for other reasons.

If I didn't already have him I would rate Tohu as #1 mid target this week

    Eels said expected back r16, so it’s 3 weeks out - 13/14/15

    I’m holding

Their statement doesn’t really make sense saying 4 weeks AND r16 return

    From the Eels website:

Ryan Matterson is expected to miss four weeks with a calf injury sustained in the Eels' win over South Sydney last week.
An approximate return date of Round 16 has been set for the back-rower.

    As the date is approximate;
If he returns at R16 and is fully fit, then you've lost a $756k player for 3 weeks (2 more than you were expecting).
If he isn't quite ready to return (he still gets paid if he doesn't play) and misses R16, and you hold for the extra week, your $756k players will have missed 5 out of 6 weeks (R13, R14, R15, R16 and R18)

Far too much risk to hold IMO

Doing everything in excel is not going to be the most efficient way to run that site. There's just too much data and too many formulas involved.
They would get great benefit from a proper database solution

yaffs and footystatistics can do stuff faster because they have a proper backend (I assume. But maybe yaffs just puts everything in a big .txt file and works from there)

I've now got Horse, JDB, Tohu in MID, and am likely trading Haas to Hopgood

Other than trading Haas back in post origin, I think that is good enough to see me through to the end of the season (please none of them get injured)
Guys like Yeo/Carrigan could well do better stats wise, but I just don't know if I'll get the trades and cash to ever actual bring them in

Just have to hope my guys all play out the year. No injuries/suspensions please

    I'm with you.

I have Carrigan, Tohu, Horse in MID and then Fifita and Hopgood at EDG after trading Haas to Hopgood this week.

Would love to be able to get Haas back at some point, but will be priortising Hynes over him most likely which will in turn likely mean I never get back on and have to live with it.
