Hmmm that’s what I was thinking. Was hoping not to worry about below par guns and CTRs after 1 week 🤣

If SOS , JMK and the piggys continue to perform, HTF will have a good year

Roosters would be one team vulnerable to the scrutiny of the independent doctor, with the likes of Radley, Collins, Keary all HIA merchants

Anyone else keen on Ilias? I had him in and out of my team pre-rd1 and he looked great against the sharks.

Yeah now I have no way to get Hammer which sucks, but on the bright side I can only really make one trade.

AKP to Carty Party unless Cheese is injured (they sent him for rib scans, if there's anything wrong there he's an instant sell, we saw last year that rib injuries will destroy fantasy output)

I can’t do it after last year. Could quite easily go back to his average of 30 from last year and then you have another problem and at the moment I have enough sub 40 players to moan about

Went sub 800 first round but I am looking at the positives.

    Went with Stone over Katoa/Trindall/Blore/Preston
Went with CNK over TMM (even if I didn't play him)
Paid the extras for Thompson over Talau in the centres.
Doueihi and Cleary set-and-forget halves combo.

Ugh - Butcher not suspended throws a spanner in the works. I still need to bring in at least one playable WFB this week (or risk AKP), but unless I downgrade someone I'm limited to about 360k max.

Options look limited to Naden or I Thompson. Both DPP (good) but what's their JS like?

If Thompson is in and Milne not in the team, then it looks like he has won the spot and is an easy trade in.

Am I insane to be considering selling Cheese to Hammer?

This time last week that trade would seem absolutely bananas, and it probably still is, but hear me out.

    * Cheese got absolutely drilled in the ribs and was sent for scans so there's probably something to it. Rib injuries are a fantasy killer as we saw last year with Frizell.

    * Given Lodge is out a few weeks (facial injury) and Radley misses at least one (concussion), there's a high chance Cheese plays mostly in the middle rather than at hooker, which is what happened in round 1 (Turpin played 60 mins at hooker)

    * The Chooks draw looks really bad and they're so depleted in the forwards I can't imagine they'll improve anytime soon (Warriors, Souths, bye, Parra, Storm, Sharks are their next 6), and Cheese will struggle to get attacking stats if not at hooker.

    * Hammer looked way more involved than he ever has been before, 20 runs is a lot by his standards and he will get opportunities backing up with JMK's work at 9

    * Having Hammer means I have a very secure back 5 (Bird, Hammer, Walsh, Miller, Warbrick with Alamoti and Talau as cover)

    * The trade leaves me $188k after my other trade (AKP to Carty Party) which I can use to get a hooker in for Boyd's bye

Of course, this could go horribly wrong if Cheese can get a try this week and Hammer goes back to his uninvolved self, but it's a tempting trade.

Even besides getting rocked, Smith didn't look that great out there. I wouldn't be surprised to see him put a few 50+ scores up from a burrowing run, but I think more value out there.

Yeah I'm very tempted to chase the money with Hammer and fix my 2nd CTR spot, 20 runs at fullback is enough for me to trust him now I think.

Cheese will probably be fine over the course of the season but I think I can put that money to better use

I didn't think players could go below 230k, but APK and Katoa both lost cash. What's the lower limit that players can't go under?

$220k. Hasn't been updated since last year even though base price has risen to $230k.
