I reckon you can add F Pele to this list, could see decent front row minutes for the doggies. Im gonna take a punt on him, they're short on decent middles.

Hard to guess if Pele or Stone will get more minutes....

Maybe if he accepted an invite to come to a meet this year he might understand that we are humans and not just thumbs and inboxes too

Except genderbender, that robot is all thumbs

Bring on the footy to hopefully release some tension valves

What is Hymel JS? Gagai will replace Tuala. Nearly every cheap back seems fraught with JS issues

Hunt will join the pile of cheapies fraught with JS issues

Barry Toohey update was that Marzhew had slight hip pointer issue that wasn’t serious and wasn’t overlooked

    Nice write up Holy Moly

Although I'll point out Perham isn't a rookie. He's played 16 first grade games going back to 2019

    TU: TMM & Fifita/Tino
    TD: Ponga & Egan Butch

(Ponga would be my only half decent WFB/CTR)

What odds are people giving that Cleary is a late withdrawl this week?

I want to captain someone from the Thursday game, just to maximise tinkering ability on Friday. Should I captain someone like Haas just in case Cleary goes down in the warmup, or just let it roll on Hopgood (who'd probably be an acceptable VC choice anyway)

I reckon Hopgood goes 60+ this week.

I'm comfortable with the VC on him BUT might use it to lock in a gun I'm still considering changing

Love your Collins pick mate. I had him in my team all the way up to the Crichton conspiracy that he'd be out for 10 rounds. Personally don't see the appeal with Ponga at all but you've probably got an epic reason. Can't really fault anything else.

I'm interested to hear your opinion on Egan Butcher as a Chooks fan. I reckon he's the better Butcher and we all saw what Nat is capable of if he gets 80 mins on an edge.

In my opinion Egan is way more talented than Nat and has a way higher upside. From what we have seen so far Nat is the more consistent performer of the two. I think Egan holds the starting edge spot all year and averages 50+ but I just can't find room for him.

Spicy take is that Egan goes close to origin selection potentially in camp as 19/20/21

I have a recollection of a discussion last year that the actual price movements have some sort of dampening effect for first few weeks (ie the 5 week formula doesn’t fully apply). I can’t find exact details, but seemed to point to a site that’s behind a pay wall these days.

Just wondering what kind of impact this has for very short term risky strategies like Trindall.

Ponga and Hastings interesting. You don't think one robs the other with respect to GK?

I think they are independently good picks but Hastings is the one I'm most likely to cut bait on early

Ponga priced at 37 with multiple banners and seasons averaging 50+
Still one of the most talented players in the NRL, I'm thinking the increased defensive load will raise the floor while hopefully not impacting the ceiling (although he will lose a few cheeky TBs on kick returns)

Hastings priced at 45 I'm looking for his first 5 games at halfback before he got injured. Low of 50, average of 59 and not many attacking stats. If he actually gets goal kicking that is a nice bonus. If the role isn't right early doors he is the first one shipped out with lots of options in his price range

I’ve selected Hastings, that period where he dominated still sits in the memory bank, a foot injury massively hampered him after, hoping he steps up like he did again
