    Round 26 Empty Round 26

Post by RandomSil Thu Sep 01, 2016 11:33 am

I am really hyped up for this week of football.

Broncos vs Roosters - Broncos need a win to potentially push them into the Top 4 to round out the season.

Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs - Bulldogs another team that could jump into the Top 4 if they pick up a win this week and other results go their way.

Dragons vs Knights - Okay this match doesn't count for anything this week... I mean.. Knights may want more than 1 win for the year?

Cowboys vs Titans - Cowboys have to win to secure their Top 4 position essentially, meanwhile Titans need the win to secure their spot inside the Top 8. As a Broncos fan and someone who wants the 3 Queensland teams in the Top 8, I want the Titans to win.

Storm vs Sharks - The battle for the Minor Premiership. Should be a massive match up this week.

Tigers vs Raiders - Sadly the Raiders don't have much to gain from a win, however the Tigers have everything to gain. This should be an incredibly exciting match up if the Titans go down against the Cowboys.

Warriors vs Eels - Well yeah... I mean... Both teams just want to move on to next year.

Panthers vs Manly - I just want to see Manly lose, that would be nice.

If Melbourne beat Cronulla, Canberra can move into the top 2 with a win which would give them a final at Bruce Stadium in week 1 and 2 if they play then. If they finish 3rd and then win in week 1 of the finals they won't play any finals in Canberra as Canberra isn't eligible to host a prelim final.

It is going to be a wonderful round.  Would I be overstepping the line if I even slightly suggested that the Titans will get the vast majority of calls this weekend?  Or would that be too cynical?

I am a cynic/pessimist and I think even if the Titans lose they'll be good.

As much as I want it to happen, just not sure Tigers will beat Canberra on Sunday, no matter who gets rested and what is on the line for either team.

Yep, will be another one of those 9th/10th finishes we have accumulated over the last decade.

Oh that is a good point... Dang well forget I said that. Raiders to go hard then.

If Tigers make the 8 does Tedesco come back for week 1 of the finals?

Yeah but you are a Tigers fan....hence the pessimism about their chances, regardless of what the Titties do.

In fairness though I fully understand where you are coming from and sadly for Tigers fans, think this year's scenario reeks of all the ducks lining up for the Tigers (in terms of other results and Raiders players being rested).......only for the Tige's to fuck it up and lose convincingly to a Canberra reserve grade team.

That was the original prognosis but last couple of weeks it sounds like week 2.  He has been travelling and training.
