You are correct, he's not dogshit and I think he'll end up a decent first grader.

But there is also a bit of a precedent for gun halves that don't kick on - the players that have the high footy IQ early but then can't step up when the players are bigger and faster in the higher grade. Then their contemporaries catch up on the footy side.

Beau Henry was U20s player of the year for the Dragons. He's been playing the third tier of footy in NSW since his mid-20s. A lot of other gun halves at age group have struggled to kick on too. Elgey and Ash Taylor were player of the year as well.

Beau Henry had his knee destroyed by a cannon ball tackle, unfair to include that poor dude. Definitely agree re Elgey and Taylor, they definitely haven't kicked on. Elgey's knee certainly took care of that, he never regained his confidence and eventually fell out of love for the game. I personally don't think Cliffords a gun half or anything, I just took exception to him labelled shit and would feel the same about Elgey and Taylor tbh. All three had/have undeniable talent

My current side has JDB in there. But he feels like my previous uber gun wish back to form pick this year

Previous fantasy pedigree a tick under 60 average. Was playing big minutes after R16 last year on return, but no McGuire early and No Vaughan, No CMC has me thinking he's playing 70+ mins where he hits that 60 average.

Priced at 53 though, so no room for error if he doesn't return to form

    he's a good shout. i can't pick him because he's a fuckwit.

honestly, I think Taumalolo is the best chance of anyone of going back to gun status. dude averaged 62, 55, 64, 64 (from 2017 to 2020) in his four seasons prior to 2021, where he averaged 48.. i think the six again change (half fix) suit him.

Agree on JDB being a fuckwit.

Lolo will split the difference and average 55. He will still attract a few nostalgic purchases.

he was also injured a lot last year, and raiders weren't great. I reckon with a more consistent side this year, JCrok will bounce back and have a good season and make some cash. after all we know he can goal kick and he's also been a serviceable, and all he has to do after that is run catch and pass pretty much. and those mid 30s are right there for him. And hes cheap so worst case im wrong and i trade him out to some cheapy performing well after a round or 2.

if you are positive about Lolo going at 55 mate he's an under priced gun with no Origin and think you have to run him

Now trying to fit both in due to my love of previous guns overriding my newfound (and now lost) fanatsy sanity
