Klemmer and SJ.... Klemmer Close to 50 avg playing lock where is is set to stay and SJ over ARey especially with potential for Farah to take some KM duties from him and his injury proneness

I don't like Klemmer and think you can get SJ cheaper later on so I would go with McGuire and ARey. Though I don't see McGuire improving too much this year.

Anybody else thinking about going with 3-4 underpriced FRFs like Gurgess, AFB, Musgrove, D Saifiti and those types with no real gun in there?

Also do people have a rule about how good reserves need to be? like sometimes i tweak my team and i think yass but then 2/4 reserves are rookies, is that normal?

I for one will be starting of with a weak Front row, taking a punt on a few light weights.

Last year quite a few people got caught out by mid range props like LAM, evans, grant etc. These players averaged around 30 points a game while your gun props were cracking 50.
Personally id like to start with at least one keeper in that position rather than trying to upgrade all those mid rangers but im on a crusade to save trades in the long run this season!

    Hey guys,

I was wondering what people were thinking about the best bottom $ FRF for this season? I've seen the following names thrown around but my knowledge of the NRL is not good enough to know much/anything about these guys and their likely fantasy outputs. Any input would be much appreciated:

    Hoare ($151,000)
    Spina ($143,000)
    Sipley ($143,000)
    Brock Gray ($138,000)
    Tetevano ($138,000)
    L Perret ($143,000)
    Ese'ese ($151,000)

Feel free to add to the list if you think there is someone better.

Re the Titans list on last thread. Yes Paasi will miss the first month of footy and I read the other day Shillington is recovering from surgery and will also miss the start of the season. (No links because I could not be bothered looking for it)

The gun props all play 50+ mins, so there is a big discrepancy between a gun and a midrange prop and even a so called cash cow prop. Every year you get stuck with a cash cow prop averaging 20-25 mins who maybe makes 50-60K at best. Sometimes the midrangers can be worse, not even earning anything and scoring 30 while Fifita/Graham are scoring 60s.
I reckon it is the hardest position to make cash out of quickly, so will be locking in a few players at various price levels.
Fifita, Vaughan, AFB and ? (maybe a rookie but not sure).

Last year we had Jake Trobjevic, but he went to 80 mins at lock, Ryan James who killed it, Dylan Napa and David Klemmer(actually lost money in first third of season) and S Mataora (AFB will be his equivalent this year) as significant money makers. No1 else really comes to mind at the start of the season. Outside of these three the money was made on second rowers with an increased role/more mins/coming back from injury previous year. I reckon you can afford to gamble more on second rowers than props.

We won't know until team lists, and even then we won't know. I know Spina is a bit of a tackle bot so I'm hoping he gets the spot and the minutes out of this lot. Not sure whether L Perret will be worth the gamble given Lussick only out for 5 games and Trobjevic/Taupau can play prop and 80 mins. Don't know much about the rest except Hoare has been talked up as a good player, but that doesn't always translate to good scores. The rest won't may not even see round 1, so I'd prob go with the Cowboys prop, but even then they will be the forth prop as someone/Hess will be in there with Scott and Bolton.

Hoare- More of a good player in real life rather than as a fantasy scorer. Think Tim Mannah with late footwork at the line to land on his front and get a quick play the ball. Simply doesn't do enough defensive work to be fantasy relevant.

Spina- When given his chance he has thrived in both fantasy and real life performance. Runs hard and tackles hard. A little older than the rest on this list so may be avoided due to his limited upside. If given a decent amount of minutes is capable of putting up 35-40 points in fantasy. One to watch

Haven't watched much of Sipley or Gray

Tetevano- Will spend most of his time in NSW cup. Much more of a ball runner than a defender, loving to roam a little wider if given the chance. Similar fantasy player to Matagi.

Perrett- Scores at a pretty solid rate but has never had enough minutes to prove if he could keep it up. If he makes first grade it will be in the last bench spot with a 20-25 minute role which is right around where he is priced. Avoid

Ese'ese- Can go missing in defense sometimes but is explosive running the ball. Will definitely have a first grade spot but will likely be the 4th prop in rotation not getting much more than 25 minutes. Bennett normally brings promising forwards on slowly so he may make a little bit of cash but it will take him 15 rounds to do it
