pretty interesting. makes finding actual FRF's less of a problem I guess with the ability to pick big minute 'locks'

A couple of interesting rule change here!

Finding big minute locks who can be picked on the edge will be almost like picking a guy at CTR who plays on the edge.

TPJ one example of someone who could get dual, hopefully there's a few tempting prospects that get through the system

Squads staying at 21, no mention of number of trades available. It would be nice to see an increase though.

Compared to supercoach, having both less trades and smaller squads means that you are much more at the mercy of injuries. It makes it tough to play the game when you use more than half your trades just on being able to field a team each week

wont surprise me if there are more trades added, they might save that news for a separate article

At what point in the season do the Dragons start playing silly buggers with Hunt and McInnes

The tackle that loses possession gets me.... if there is a 3 man tackle and the carrier loses possession do all 3 players get 4 points?

The new positions pretty much reflect actual NRL now as locks are no longer more of a second rower. Locks are now more of a forward with a big engine. Means people can't pick guys like Jurbo, Lolo, Carrigan, etc at second row. Instead we will be forced to pick up genuine second rowers.

Team set up now looks to be

Seems like things will be kicking into full swing pretty soon. Great to see some Fantasy articles coming out on NRL.com pretty early this year... hopefully they actually put a little bit of time into it over the off season. Still think their predicted teams are rubbish.

there will be complaints but I assume it will be up to the stats people to attribute the points where a defensive effort forced the turnover.

if someone just drops the ball while pushing an offload in a 3 man tackle, then i'm not sure that should count a forced turnover, for example.

Also said in the article that it will start just after Australia Day which means if they plan to realease player prices team by team one each day they would have to start today or tomorrow.

I understand why theyve changed the front row forwards / second row forwards roles as thats how the game but we're going to lose so many DPPs theyre already pretty bad with the allocations as it is. There will be less to choose from and help us now

I love the shift to middles and edges (just makes sense really, and has been appropriate for years).

I suspect that the force turnover only ends up being One on One steals and Intercepts - pretty much everything else will be a loose carry (and they already carry stats for those two types of turnovers).

Just quickly looking at Round 1 last year: there were 6 One on One steals (seems a bit on the high side for most rounds I would think) and just 2 intercepts.
That's an extra 32 points across a round - it seems like the addition will be a nice extra at times but largely inconsequential IMO.
