I always think its weird how teams manage to keep such things a secret. Do they go to great lengths to train in 'secret' or is there just not that much interest (from media and from fans)?

I'm used to Broncos up here where every training is basically 'open' - anyone can go down and watch (unless they're training at Suncorp which isn't very often), and obviously they're the only team in town.

    https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/06/25/panthers-coach-hints-at-squad-rotation/

    Fucking click bait bastards

"We've spoken about how we could possible rotate, it's important to get some of these guys who aren't playing footy [some minutes], it was good to see Brent Naden come in tonight." Literally the only thing in the whole article about rotations... the rest of the article was just about Cleary's infection and other injuries.

Back on the topic of not wishing injuries on players/celebarting players injuries.
Same goes for players mental health.

Happy for Liverpool, even though my supporting Arsenal was a direct reaction to every Irish kid my age wearing a Liverpool top all through the late 70's and the whole of the 80's.

The gunners should be right to go again in 2034

Had originally traded out Luai to fund Tommy T to Ponga. After the Katoa news, I reversed so I could keep Luai and have 18 available players.

Now I have 40 points and don't have to play Clune.

No matter how good you are at the game, sometimes your ass is saved by dumb luck.

Last 2 weeks I've been incredibly lucky to only cop Turbo and Carrigan. Sometimes luck flows the other way and bad picks score a bunch of tries, but when it goes your way it feels nice

I've always though skills gets you to the top 1000, luck is needed to win the whole thing

Similar to me. Ditched Katoa, held Luai.

Luai was actually sitting in position 21 for my team, so I don't get to count his score, but gives a small price boost for when he goes.

3/111 is hardly the best start - Latrell, Api and Crichton.

Drops me 1100 places from 791 to 1887.

This is true, but its also true that you can make decisions that make it easier to cope with bad luck.

I've seen a bunch of people playing short this week who have Wiliame as one of their red dots. There's been ample opportunity to trade out a guaranteed out, so if you've kept him its as a known risk, and you can't complain too much about bad luck if the risk doesn't pay off.

Same goes for people running without cover in one (or more) positions

Or people who traded in multiple guys with poor job security who now don't have a job.

I mean, having Tedesco, Trbojevic, Katoa, Carrigan, Best etc all go down in one week is pretty harsh, but there were ways you could set your team to make it easier to deal with these issues.

Of course, the person who wins the comp will probably be someone who takes different risks and has it pay off, so you can't go around taking no risks at all. But if you just assume all your trades will go off perfectly its asking for trouble.

Panthers still have a pretty good run from here on out. Even resting players they still look good for a top 4 finish. Rather they make it to the finals strong than push all season just to make it to the finals fielding injuries.

Sux fantasy wise for people holding panthers players tho.

I reckon the Warriors might keep it reasonably close tonight. They are at their best when everyone expects them to get smashed. It might be just like the ANZAC day game when we didn't have RTS and Green and just about pulled it off.

3/160 has seen me drop 300 places from ~700 to ~1000. (Crichton will come in later as AE for 4/200)

Cook, Yeo, Murray, Crichton, Luai all somewhat popular (and ARey might have been a trade in for a few this week) so I'm hoping those that overtook me have used more players and I can catch them up again.
